They are currently recruiting for the position of Competent Person for Lifting Operations (CPLO), based on 28/28 rotation in Qatar.

Job Description

Broad and extensive knowledge in handling & lifting appliance & operations

Working to International standards such as: BS, LOLER, NORSOK

Experienced in Oil & Gas Industry

Worked in offshore operations

Review of calculations for all types of lifts

Risk assessment in relation to health, safety & environment

Supervision of critical lifts

Planning of critical and non-critical lifts

Assessment of personnel competence for handling and lifting operations

Promote safe handling and lifting operation in compliance with company HSE policy and International standards

Assess handling and lifting organisation in the project

Review calculations for critical lifts

Review & approve critical lifting plans

Attend Critical lifts (monitoring and supervision)

Perform condition and suitability checks on lifting appliances and CCU's

Evaluate utilization of lifting and handling equipment

Provide lifting and handling expertise and advise RSES-D/Company Site Representative

Assist in handling and lifting investigations

Assessment of personnel competence and proposal for improvement of competence of personnel involved in handling and lifting operations

Train, coach and mentor personnel where necessary

Review system and standard of equipment maintenance (including suitability, effectiveness and cost effectiveness)

Ensure application, communication and understanding of handling and lifting procedures

Skills & Experience

Extensive experience in lifting & handling at supervisory/management level

Technical Engineer and/or

Industry related qualifications such as LEEA (Lifting Equipment Engineers Association)

Lifting equipment inspector for

:

General Lifting Equipment

All types of Cranes (onshore & offshore)

Containers & CCU's

Winches and powered hoists

Overhead travelling cranes, runway beams and swing jibs

Wire rope inspector

Competence Assessor

This is a contract position.

The rate for this position is negotiable.
