Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Project Planner, based in South London.

Job Description

Our client is a highly successful International construction group, due to a number of significant contract wins we are looking to appoint a permanent project planner. This role will be predominantly based in South London, although the successful applicant will need to be flexible with regards to site based travel.

Pre-construction

Take a holistic ownership of the pre-construction planning process. Plan, coordinate and develop a program for the delivery team that fully incorporates the implementation of all procedures, processes and systems.

Be actively involved in the detailed review, analysis and monitoring of the procurement and the construction programs of subcontractors as well as the design delivery programs of the Design Teams (including specialist consultants) to develop and manage the Project Master Program.

Recommend and implement modifications to improve effectiveness and attain project milestones.

Prepare short and long-term resource allocation plans based on input from all key players and team members

Establish schedules and risk management plans and investigate potential for serious deviations effecting project delivery.

When program sequence is developed, communicate the complexities of the development to the project team and stakeholders, using 4D techniques where appropriate.

Contract - Post Tender

Evaluate and analyze with the team risks and issues compromising project results and develop plans to mitigate them.

Educate employees in methods to ensure effective planning and programming.

Identify changes in work scope in the project plan.

Ensure to take appropriate planning measures with all clients to reassess, renegotiate and amend scope of work responsibilities, proposals, contracts and budgets.

Develop detailed task lists and work effort assessment.

Prepare and present regular internal and external project reports for management.

Lead development of baseline schedule and support Project Manager (PM) in Integrated Baseline Review (IBR).

Monitor and analyze project effectiveness using qualitative and quantitative tools. Gather actual data, update project schedule and develop reliable schedule forecast with support from project team.

Continuously develop and update the project master schedule to include all stakeholder requirements and interfaces.

Work closely on a day to day basis with the subcontractors and design teams to monitor and/or amend the Contractor's Baseline Programme Work;

Report to the Project Director any risks, opportunities and any mitigation strategies to maintain the project completion date;

Attend site and convene workshops with the site team as necessary to get snap-shots in time updates on actual progress on site.

Conduct independent site visits to evaluate site progress against program and report to the Project Director accordingly.

In an effort to manage and mitigate delays (if any), review the program and propose alternative strategies to mitigate program and time risks to the project.

Provide support to the team in understanding risks and opportunities of potential change orders through the process of the project.

Where necessary support the project team with review and analysis of the program to assist with resolution of claims and change orders.

Other Duties

Active work to improve Client Management, Marketing and raising the profile of the Company, with stakeholders / client.

Lead by example and develop leadership and management skills in others.

Skills & Experience

Ideally qualified to degree level in Building or Civil Engineering, First or Upper Second preferred.

Knowledge of ASTA Power Project necessary - Working Knowledge of P6 as well as AutoCAD, BIM, Revit helpful.

Previous experience working on £25 mil + R/C, P/T and steel frame structures with National Contractors across the UK.

Ideally with a Site Engineering background working within Industrial, Commercial, Retail, Hotel, Leisure.

Must be flexible on work location.

Must have good 'client facing skills' and have proven ability to present, chair and coordinator meetings.

Must have Good working Knowledge of Design and Build JCT &, NEC3 contracts, as well as working with BREEAM.

Knowledge and experience of a behavioral based safety program advantageous.

Working knowledge of contract document control systems (4P, Asite, BIW) beneficial

This is a permanent position.

The salary for this position is negotiable.
