Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Lead Design Engineer - Rotary, based in India.
Job Description
Function as a Lead Engineer for projects in the engineering of rotating machinery
Ensure quality and timelines for deliverables
Thoroughly conversant with selection of rotating machinery viz. Compressors, turbines, pumps, blowers and fans
Familiar with API Standards for respective machinery and also familiar with material standards
Vendor proposal reviews/technical clarifications
Design Inputs
Preparation of Technical Specifications
Inter-disciplinary Deliverable Checking
Undertake factory inspection and testing of rotating equipment
Commissioning of rotary equipment systems
Trouble-shoot and resolve site problems .
Actively communicate with other disciplines to optimise areas of interface during the design development
Support/implement departmental quality management programs
Provide technical guidance to task force members
Interface engineering for rotating equipment with all other disciplines
Preparation of Material Requisition
Providing clarifications to technical Queries from Client, PMC and Vendors
Vendor Offer review, preparation of Technical Bid Evaluation Report
Model selection of rotating equipment through close interaction with vendors
Vendor document/drawing review.
Interface with other discipline engineers, Vendor and Site-Construction Team
Skills & Experience
BEng/BTech Mechanical
Vast experience in hydrocarbon EPC project sector
Should have functioned as Lead Rotary Engineer for hydrocarbon EPC projects.
Experience in preparation of mechanical data sheets and specifications for rotating equipment such as steam turbine, centrifugal compressor, screw compressor, reciprocating compressor, centrifugal/axial flow pumps, integrally geared compressors, blowers, fans
Experienced in vendor offer evaluation, preparation of TBE, understanding of vendor P&ID's and review vendor drawings, calculations etc.
Experience in engineering of Petrochemical/Oil & Gas projects
Detailing of Lube oil and mechanical seal systems
Awareness in design of hydrodynamic bearings and flexible couplings
Exposure to commissioning and field trouble shooting of rotating machinery
Knowledge on pulsation study of reciprocation compressor
Ability to handle major rotating equipment as a package including basic knowledge of other disciplines like Process, E&I and Piping specifically related to interfacing with main equipment
Familiarity with rotating equipment vibration analysis
This is a contract position.
The rate for this position is negotiable.
