They are currently recruiting for the position of Project Cost & Planning Engineer, based in Doha, Qatar.

Job Description

Experienced Cost and Planning Engineer required to be part of a project team for an offshore development project in the Middle East.

Develop level 4 schedule for the overall project incorporating various resources required for the project

cost control of internal/external project costs with secondary progress reporting function

Regular interaction with Project Managers and Contractors to develop schedules and achieve critical milestones

Analyse Contractor Schedules and flag impact on Critical Path

Produce weekly and monthly progress reports against the baseline schedule

Control of contract and procurement costs

Control of Project Budget and AFE's

Responsible for Monthly cost/planning status reports to Management

Interface with Project Manager to provide all status reporting and presentations.

Cost variation/amendment control, invoice approval management

Interface with Finance group on reporting methods, invoice approval and cash call status

Cost estimating skills preferred

Progress monitoring/reporting against overall schedule on a monthly basis required. This will be to incorporate and report at Management level

Small/Large Operator experience preferred (ie. long term sole major Operator experience not preferred

Skills & Experience

Engineering degree or equivalent

Candidates required with commercial, scheduling, contractual, management and technical background

Good presentation, communication and written skills.

Logic thinking and analytical skills.

Good data process management, filtering and assimilation

Ability to adapt to team/multi skill philosophy

Expert in handling P6 (Primavera) , MS Project, MS Word, Excel and Power Point

PMP Certification Preferred

CCE/CCC certification Preferred

Vast relevant experience in similar roles, preferably handling major EPCI projects with Operators/Contractors

Construction Planning for Offshore projects will be an added advantage

Cost management skills/experience will be an added advantage

Team player.

A proven leader capable of initiating and implementing positive organizational and operational changes.

A decision-maker, capable of making good business decisions with a minimum of data.

Self-starter with a strong desire to deliver superior results.

Capable of working with and developing a team spirit with personnel from many diverse backgrounds.

Good people skills with the ability to mentor and develop people.

Competitive Low cost attitude and approach.

This is a contract position.

The rate for this position is negotiable.
