Job Description
Our client is an international upstream Oil & Gas company with the majority of its production carried out in North America, the North Sea and Southeast Asia and is committed to conducting its business safely, in an ethically, socially and environmentally responsible manner
As Buyer(In-House Services)your main responsibilities will include
All procurement activities in support of a wide range of internal departments within the company
Prepare strategy (including the composition of tender evaluation and recommendation to award papers), tender, analyse, negotiate and award Purchase and Service Orders as per company policies and procedures.
Expedite key orders to ensure expedient delivery.
Assess contractual, financial and liability risk to the company.
Liaise with key client group stakeholders (at the beginning of the "requirement cycle") to ensure early and suitable Supply Management involvement in the development, implementation and evaluation of supply chain procurement strategies.
Meet regularly with key contractors/ suppliers (both actual and potential) to ensure the Company's needs are being met, that strategic value of the relationship with Suppliers are being realised and that the Company is meeting its obligations to the contractor to help position the deliverables for success.
Liaise with the Contract Analysts with a view to fully understanding the content of bespoke Contracts.
Assist the Contract Analysts in identifying areas of new development.
Assist the Contract analysts, as required, with new Contract planning, bidding, evaluation, award and on-going management.
Encourage new initiatives that improve productivity and/or help lower total costs of business and report on same.
Ensure that cost, quality and schedule are managed consistent with Company contract and procurement policies and procedures.
Contribute to the development and implementation of a spend report mechanism.
Liaise with Team Leaders, Logistics and Purchasing/Inventory to ensure an integrated approach.
Fulfil an active role in supporting the Company in industry supported initiatives such as FPAL and Supply Chain forums.
Assist the Operational Procurement Team Lead as and when required
Education, Experience & Technical Qualifications:
Knowledge of LOGIC Terms and Conditions is preferred.
A clear understanding of contractual obligations for services and commodities is essential.
Excellent working knowledge of the Oil & Gas sector in areas of production operations, maintenance and package procurement is preferred.
Graduate or fully qualified Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply
