Job Description

Performing NDE(non-destructive examination) lab tests and data analysis supporting R&D (research and development) and tech service projects for Upstream, Pipeline and occasionally Downstream,

Managing vendor NDE personnel qualification programs, including development and update of test protocols, development of designs of test sample and test loop, QA/QC of test sample fabrication and test loop construction, test administration, grading of test data, and reporting and record-keeping of qualification test results,

Conducting field inspection of pressure equipment using NDE methods such as UT shear wave, phased array UT, AUT, TOFD, guided wave UT, eddy current, ACFM, acoustic emission, and

Carrying out NDE contractor QA/QC, including procedure review, field QC, and review of inspection data/reports.

Accountable for completion of assigned projects

Accountable for maintaining Customer Satisfaction Index at or above business targets

Accountable for maintaining billable hour rates at or above business targets.

Skills & Experience

Must be eligible to work in the U.S.

Must be a High School Graduate, GED or equivalent; Associates degree preferred

Considerable experience if candidate has an Associates degree or extensive experience if technician does not have an Associates degree

Must have Level II ASNT Certification in UT. Level III in UT, and UT certifications from industry qualification test program (e.g., API QUTE, QUSE, QUTE-PA) are strongly preferred.

Additional Level IIs or IIIs in other NDE techniques such as RT, ET, MT, and PT are highly desirable.

NDE field support experience in refining or petrochemical manufacturing locations

Proven knowledge of described job

Excellent verbal & written communications skills with basic report writing experience

A good working knowledge of MS Office applications, LiveLink/SharePoint and laboratory information systems

Ability to work well independently and to interact as a member of the NDE team

Ability to manage multiple tasks with a variety of competing priorities

Curiosity to learn about new products and applications

Be a strong self-starter. Have the capacity and drive to function as an effective laboratory activity leader.

Willingness to travel both within the U.S. and to international sites for short term assignments (generally a few weeks or less) mostly in the Americas from 25 to 35% of the time

Familiarity with NDE/testing/inspection codes and standards of ASME, ASTM, ISO and API is highly desirable.

Previous experience in providing NDE field services to petrochemical facilities.

ASNT level II in UT is required. Also, a working knowledge of MT, PT, ET and RT is desirable.

Able to travel and provide field NDE support to the facilities of a major oil company.

Able to absorb in a short time more advanced UT techniques.

A strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) is a requisite.

A working knowledge of industry standards for pressure equipment such as API, ASME, ANSI, and other applicable codes and specifications is a plus.

Candidate must be able to work with minimum supervision and be self-guided.

Experienced coworkers are available for coaching and mentoring as needed.

This is a contract position.

The rate for this position is negotiable.
