URGENT: A recognised leading provider of specialist services in gravity and magnetic geophysics seeks a Processing Geophysicist to join their expanding Processing Team to process conventional gravity and magnetic data and gradiometry data… Applicants are invited with a minimum of 2 years geophysical processing experience, preferably in processing of gravity, magnetic, gradiometry, EM, and/or seismic data… Experience in using Geosoft’s “Oasis Montaj” software highly advantageous… Full training support will be provided in the Company’s processing techniques… Flexibility to work overseas desired.

Key Requirements

The successful candidate will have:
• An earth science degree preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years work experience in a geophysical processing role essential.
• Processing experience in one or more geophysical data types essential e.g. Gravity/Magnetic/Gradiometry/EM OR/AND Seismic data. Gravity Gradiometry processing highly advantageous.
• Proven experience using industry standard processing software essential. Experience using Geosoft Oasis Montaj software highly advantageous.
• Knowledge of the application of potential field geophysics to exploration programs – from basin scale geological interpretation to the application of 3D gravity inversion to constrain velocity modelling of salt structures advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills – must be able to relate to team members and communicate confidently with clients as required.
• Good project management skills – ensuring a high level of client satisfaction at all project stages.
• Ability to manage projects unsupervised essential.
• Self-motivated individual – use initiative and lead. The ability to run projects single-handed if required.
• Attention to detail and processes.
• Highly flexible – ability to adapt to new project challenges and work practices.
• Drive and ambition to achieve in a growing processing group.
• Willingness to travel with flexibility to work overseas.

Job Description

Reporting to the Data Processing Manager your key tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Working alongside experienced team members, you will become competent in the Company’s proprietary and industry software, processes and practices.

• Parameterise and perform appropriate geophysical data processing of raw field data to produce interpretation ready products for the Company and external clients. This including but not being limited to GPS, LIDAR, magnetic field, gravity field, gravity gradient, bathymetry and video data.

• Strive to deliver a high level of professionalism throughout your project delivery – adhere to the Company’s quality assurance scheme and within agreed timescales for the work.

• Maintain accurate and complete logs of all operations performed in the generation of deliverable geophysical data.

• Manage and report on processing workflow of projects as assigned and present results to project groups.

• Apply, maintain and develop methods to optimise quality of the Company’s results.

• Initiate and participate in problem solving and method development activity.

• Assist activity within the field operations, processing and interpretation and marketing groups in both production and development work.

• Be proactive in developing your geophysical understanding, technologies used, and work practices within the Company and in the general market.
