They are currently recruiting for the position of Engineering Supervisor, based in Aberdeen.

Job Description

Understands and integrates top-level business goals with their technical activities.

Conduct/orchestrate specific operational/safety related activities such as; Design Reviews, Risk Analysis, HAZOP, FMECA, Reliability Studies, etc.

Supervise and provide guidance in the development and establishment of new technologies and core technical competencies.

Supervise and provide guidance to engineering team for the reviewing of client specifications, to ensure products are suitable for application.

Supervise and provide guidance to engineering team for raising exceptions to client specifications where products do not comply.

Supervise and provide guidance to engineering team to ensure optimum mechanical solutions will work with current product or proposed products.

Supervise and provide guidance to engineering team to ensure that the Project Execution Model Execution part is correctly utilised on projects.

Supervise and provide guidance to engineering team in the development of prototypes, verification/validation units and product specifications, including material specifications, assembly drawings and manufacturing documentation.

Select standard products to suit system solution provided by system engineer.

Liaise with Research & Development and Product Development and other engineering disciplines to ensure non-qualified products are suitable with current planned developments and ensuring current best practise all round.

Has a continual awareness of new and advancing technologies and provides conceptual and practical applications for products used.

May provide sustaining engineering direction and support for existing products.

Contribute to engineering budgets to meet project needs.

Organise engineering manpower to meet agreed project timescales.

Mentor and guide engineers/graduates in their day to day work.

Perform/assist with appraisals of engineers and graduates.

Train subordinates to develop Company product awareness.

Control external interfaces with Company equipment.

Represent Company Engineering at Customer meetings.

Visit customers on an as needed basis to provide back-up to marketing efforts.

As necessary, perform other duties, requiring essentially the same level of skill & responsibility when required.

Deputise for Engineering Manager.

Skills & Experience

Degree level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering related discipline.

Preferably Chartered Engineer status

Demonstrable relevant mechanical engineering and design experience preferably within the Oil and Gas industry engineering background.

Working knowledge of offshore working techniques and ideally will have had exposure to the offshore working environment.

Demonstrable experience in the ability to carry out all elements of mechanical engineering and design within a Xmas Tree & Wellhead Subsea System with the inclusion of operating/running tools, material selection, and welding practices

Demonstrable experience in the supervision of personnel.

Proven ability to lead multi-disciplined Projects, and be familiar with equipment and activities throughout all levels of the business.

This is a permanent position.

The salary for this position is negotiable.
