I have always loved magazines, from the glossy pages of my first subscriptions as a toddler, to the refined pages of a Kinfolk magazine. But magazines tend to be pricey, and not very eco-friendly. While I miss the texture and smell of printed paper, and the ability to carry, collect and keep print publications, I have found in free online magazines a way to reconcile my love for magazines with my small budget. Below are my 15 favorites, all full of inspiration and pretty pictures.
1. Sweet Paul
Sweet Paul, my personal all time favorite, is a visually stunning quarterly lifestyle magazine for anyone looking to make simple yet elegant meals and stylishly easy crafts, or just needing a dose of inspiration.
2. Knot
Knot is a new quarterly free online magazine full of DIY ideas and scrumptious recipes. The imagery is impressive and the design is perfection. Although it's currently only available in French, the magazine is so beautiful that it's still worth a visit even if you have no clue what bonjour means.
3. Styled
Styled is another gem, filled with gorgeous photos, creative DIY projects and tutorials, recipes and lovely printables.
4. Luscious
Luscious is the ultimate free online magazine for foodistas. It's a quarterly magazine, all about embracing seasonal ingredients in the kitchen, jam-packed with gorgeous pictures, simple and delicious recipes, lovely styling, and beautiful typography and design.
5. UPPERCASE
UPPERCASE, "a magazine for the creative and curious" inspired by design, illustration, craft and creativity, is one of the most refined and subtle I know of. It's actually a printed quarterly magazine, but it can also be read online for free.
6. Rue
Rue Magazine is a bimonthly digital lifestyle, interiors and entertaining magazine, full of colors and ideas to inspire.
7. N.E.E.T.
N.E.E.T. is a quarterly online publication, dedicated to showcasing independent designers and up-and-coming fashion photographers, illustrators and writers. Full of beautiful photographs and eclectic inspiring articles.
8. Magnolia Rouge
Magnolia Rouge is a quarterly inspirational online magazine. Packed with innovative wedding ideas, fun and original real weddings, fresh color combinations and inspired themes, it showcases the most beautiful, stylish and colorful images.
