My last everyday beauty post was one of my most popular ever, so my goal is to try to do a lot more beauty-focused posts each month and highlight some of my favorite products and current routines.  I’m not someone who could ever spend a ton of time of makeup, so a little foundation, filling in my brows, and a nude lip is usually my go-to natural look, that’s really easy to achieve.  Since sharing that post back in September, a lot of you asked for my favorite lip colors, so today I’m sharing my favorite hues for fall, and showing you how I get my everyday look!

The secret to an amazing pout starts with soft, hydrated lips.  I love using this sugar scrub every week to remove any dead skin, and always keep my lips hydrated with my favorite lip balm – I lather this stuff on before bed and go through tubes of it like crazy!

When it comes to an everyday color – I’m all about those nudes!  I always start by lining my lips – I never, ever put lipstick on without lining first.  My favorite liner is Bare Minerals Gen Nude in ‘On Point’ – the perfect nude a shade or two darker than my natural lip color (with a hint of mauve).  I line slightly outside of my natural lip line, making sure to press down harder on the outside of my lips and gradually pressing lighter as I fill in the rest of my lips – yes, I fill in my entire lip with the lip liner.  It creates almost an ombré effect (and your lips look larger) when the outside is slightly darker.  I then use this small angled brush (only $3!!!) and apply M.A.C ‘Pink You Said’ over the lip liner for a little texture – the color is the upper right hand pink-ish shade in the palette.  I also love Bare Minerals Gen Nude lipsticks in ‘Honeybun’ & ‘Tutu’ – it’s a super hydrating formula that stays put and looks flat, not shiny.  I’ve never gotten on board with any gloss or anything sticky (how annoying!), so I tend to stick with anything matte.  These Gen Nude liquid lipsticks are also a favorite!

On a beauty budget?  L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss is one of my absolute favorites and under $8 – I’ve been raving about this stuff here on the blog for the last year!  I picked up a couple of the neutral shades – ‘Nude Allure’ and ‘Statement Nude’ and throw them in every bag I own, they are the perfect touch-up shade and double as a moisturizer too!

When shooting blog photos, heading out for the night, or when I’m feeling like a more dramatic pout, I use the same lip liner and then apply either Urban Decay ‘Carnal’ – a richer nude with a matte texture, or one of the darker nudes from the M.A.C Liptensity set – I love ‘Smoked Almond’, ‘Doe’, or ‘Toast and Butter’ for daytime and ‘Marsala’ or Cordovan’ for nighttime.  Lips will be having a moment this fall and winter and darker brown shades are definitely back in action – hello another 90’s trend!  I picked up this gorgeous Chanel Rogue Velvet – #59 above and can’t wait to rock it this season!

Let me know what beauty products you want me to highlight next or if you want another tutorial!  I’m thinking about a “get ready with me” tutorial to show you my everyday beauty routine (+ a little contouring that was such a hit on Snapchat)!
