As the Bundys are touring London they happen upon one of the famous British Guards who never laughs, smiles, or has any reaction at all. This is a challenge that they cannot resist.
Bud starts out asking if he’s wearing a hat or is just “a member of the British hair club for men.” No reaction.
Peg gives it a crack by telling him “my husband sell’s women’s shoes for a living.” Although the entire crowd around them laughs, again the guard does not respond.
A confident Kelly comes in claiming “I’ve made men come out of comas.” She gives him a big hug but alas, nothing. She goes even further, telling him “I’m stupid too.”
Not one to give up, Peg wants to try again. This time she takes one of Al’s shoes and puts it under his nose. Although his face begins to change, Al notes that it’s not technically a smile. Peg predicts it will be once she takes the shoe away.
As soon as the shoe is pulled away, the guard not only gives that obligatory smile but collapses on the ground as a result.
