A regeneration project in Falkirk has attracted the attention of those in charge of a property prize north of the border. The renovation of the former post office has the potential to house 50 businesses, and the variety of the facilities available may generate enthusiasm among local firms needing meeting rooms.

An organisation called Bellair has put £2 million into the ambitious project. The new structure is in the running for a significant Scottish property prize, the winner of which will be announced at a high-profile event in February 2014. The awards ceremony in question will be held in Edinburgh, and it should help to collect funds for a cancer-related charity.

According to the Falkirk Herald, Alistair Campbell, Bellair’s managing director, has said:

“Being short-listed in these prestigious awards highlights the scale of the project and recognises The Falkirk Business Hub is unlike conventional business centres because we’re providing facilities and services to support networking.

“It is also a tribute to its positive role in transforming the look of the town centre.”

The hub is located where Vicar Street and Weir Street meet. Cost-effectiveness has been a priority and Bellair may produce similar hubs elsewhere in Scotland.

The design of the development has included features which will enable those companies using the premises to maximise their effectiveness. For example, a shared lounge and a coffee area will work as informal meeting room. In addition, the site’s gym is expected to be useful from a networking perspective.
