hello there anon,
thank you for the question - i’ll certainly add this to my faq to clarify and as a reference for anyone else!

re: my base codes…  the base codes ( one linked in ‘theme 101 - part 6′ one in ‘theme 101 - part 7′ ) are a result of the full set of ‘theme 101 tutorials’.  if you follow the tutorials through from start to end, you’d end up with the same code anyway!

terms of use:  you are welcome to use these base codes to make your own themes and to publish those for public use if you wish!  credit for the base code is NOT required.  they were created to help people learn about themes and to give a starting point for creating your own themes.  if you wish to credit ( either in the code, on a post, on a credit page or elsewhere ) that would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!  the base codes may NOT be used for ‘paid for commissions’ - as i provide all of my themes and resources for FREE any additional resources or themes created as a derivative of them ( or as the result step by step recreation via the tutorials ) should also be provided for FREE ( not to mention that it also violates Tumblr’s Fair Use Guidelines!!! ).

TL:DR - YES!!!  you can create your own public themes from my base codes ( base codes only please, not my other published themes! ) - no credit necessary ( unless you want to! ) - free published resources are fine - may not be used for ‘paid for’ commissions.

i hope this helps anon!
