Fourth of July BBQ To Go at Marketplace

Everyone’s BBQ favorites are prepped, packed and ready for the road! Chef Kevin has created a complete menu to simply pick up, serve up and enjoy. The Fourth of July BBQ To Go includes: BBQ Baby Back Ribs, Citrus Herb Roasted Chicken, Roasted Potatoes, Corn on the Cob, Mac n’ Cheese, Coleslaw, Chilled Grilled Vegetable Salad and Peach Cobbler.

Star-Spangled Groovy Fest

Two stages will be set for 5 different bands who will play from 2 p.m. – 9 p.m. The “throwback” live music fest will feature tribute bands celebrating popular music from the 60s & 70s. Among the other festivities:

Back Bay Bistro Buffet – The critically acclaimed onsite restaurant will offer 2 seatings from 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. Guests will enjoy salmon, swordfish, chicken, steak and pork right from the grill as well as a seafood station with oysters, shrimp, ceviche and California rolls; a number of selections from the salad bar; turkey breast and New York steak at the carving station; and dessert display featuring apple pie, assorted bunt cakes and frozen delights. The Queen Mary’s 2015 All-American July 4th Celebration will be a festive all-age party presenting 100 years of American spirit and tradition. Celebrate July 4th at the Aliso Viejo Aquatic Center where everyone will get in for $3. The facility, which is flanked by the picturesque golf course and Aliso Viejo Conference Center, will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and feature recreational swim and music throughout the day. The facility is located at 29 Santa Barbara Drive near Golf Drive and Glenwood.

After a fun-filled day at the pool, head over to Grand Park for the Aliso Viejo Community Association’s annual July 4th bash from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the Aliso Viejo Town Center on Aliso Creek Road. The event features live entertainment, bounce houses, face painting, games, food for purchase and a spectacular fireworks show.

While you are there, be sure to check out the City’s new Multimedia Public Information Trailer that will be parked next to the park on Grand Avenue from about 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. The dynamic trailer is being used as part of an extensive public outreach effort the City is launching to garner community input about the Aliso Viejo Ranch and gain community consensus for the best use for this 7-acre parcel at 100 Park Avenue. Residents can stop by to learn more about the “Revisit the Ranch” campaign and provide input.

The 37th Annual Run In The Parks will take place on Saturday, July 4th. This 5K run/walk, 10K run and Children’s races benefit is a community tradition that benefits the Y’s scholarship program. FREE SHUTTLE BUSES

Avoid the traffic jam! If you’re headed to the Harbor to view the fireworks, you’re not alone! Visitors from all over Southern California flock to Dana Point each year for this summer tradition. Local residents are encouraged to bike or walk to their favorite viewing spot to avoid the annual parking difficulties. FREE shuttle buses will make round trips from Dana Hills High School to Dana Point Harbor from 8:00 a.m. to midnight. If you must drive, plan ahead. Parking lots at Doheny State Beach and Dana Point Harbor fill up very early. Personal vehicle access to the harbor closes at 7:30 p.m.; only buses will be allowed in during the closure. Harbor access will reopen after the fireworks show traffic has cleared out (approx. 10:30 p.m.)
