Position Summary
The primary responsibility of this position is to perform manufacturing engineering functions associated with component manufacture including machined, fabricated and assembled components. Duties to include implementing process improvements and best practices.
Duties & Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL
* Lead efforts in cost reduction and avoidance
* Create standards and master routers
* Support definition of item master attributes within ERP system
* Perform time and motion studies including labor run rates, set up times and router development
* Actively participate in NCR dispositions, including but not limited to MRB support
* Initiate design changes as required
* Review and approve ECO/ ECR’s within PLM system
* Assist in definition of MBOM within PLM system and improve accuracy within ERP system
* Actively participate in the sourcing of machined and fabricated components to internal and external resources
* Perform process analysis, process improvements, process design and control including metrics, goals, targets and standardization
* Direct equipment modifications and improvements
* Implement manufacturing best practice improvement including 5S, lean manufacturing and other advanced manufacturing practices/concepts
* Participate in product design reviews
* Support manufacturing cost estimating and provide support for bids and proposals
* Demonstrate leadership in safety initiatives – including definition of engineered safety solutions
* Assist in equipment problem resolution
* Assist with the definition and design of tooling, jig and fixture design
* Manage large capital equipment projects in conjunction with design engineering, including concept development, prototype, test, design, documentation, commissioning and installation
* Support Production Management in the daily running of operations
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
* BS Degree in Engineering plus 5 years manufacturing experience (Manufacturing Engineer) or 10 years equivalent combination of education and experience (Manufacturing Specialist)
* Experience with machine, fabrication and assembly shop operations
* Working knowledge of MS Office
* Experience with ERP systems
DESIRED
* Enovia, PeopleSoft and AutoCAD skills

This position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows.
* Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night.
* Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the work place.
* Work surface is stable (flat).
