I recently mentioned I would be trying the Olay Regenerist Luminous skin care line and sharing my personal experience with the products. In my initial post I listed my current skin qualms, along with the goals I hoped to achieve by incorporating this three step system into my daily routine. A couple of weeks have passed and it is now time to showcase my results and overall opinion regarding these new items.
Olay Regenerist Luminous Brightening Cream Cleanser
This cleanser consists of a hydrating formula that includes gentle exfoliating micro beads that cleanse to reveal skin that’s highly defined, beautifully clean, and more luminous than ever before. It is said to instantly brighten dull and uneven skin, hydrate to instantly illuminate skin and recapture a healthy looking, youthful luminosity, and leave skin feeling smooth, conditioned, and even-textured. Upon first using the Olay Regenerist Luminous Brightening Cream Cleanser I immediately noticed the strong, yet refreshing, flowery scent. Scented skin care products don’t bother me, but they do make me nervous, since my face can be extremely sensitive and I feel added fragrances only aggravate that further. Thankfully that was not the case with the Brightening Cream Cleanser and I was left with nothing but clean polished skin after every use. Throughout the review period I chose to use the cleanser both on its own and in conjunction with my sonic facial cleansing brush (which is usually how I wash my face). I enjoyed using the cleanser both ways, however the micro beads combined with my facial cleansing brush left my skin feeling smoother than ever before.
Olay Regenerist Luminous Tone Perfecting Cream
There’s nothing like a good moisturizer and this one features rich conditioners that work to smooth, hydrate, and protect skin. It contains a powerful antioxidant complex made from vitamin E and green tea that promotes a more even skin tone and texture, while its hydrating formula delivers toning ingredients 10 layers deep into the skin’s surface which fade the look of dark spots over time. This cream is scented much like the cleanser, yet also did not cause a sensitivity issue for me, but if you prefer unscented skin care items you may want to take note of it. Moisturizers and I have a very rocky relationship. Some days my face is dry from our harsh desert and sucks it up instantly. Other days my face is magically hydrated and any moisturizer leaves my face greasy. It’s always a coin toss. The Olay Regenerist Luminous Tone Perfecting Cream always seemed to leave my skin smooth, soft, and perfectly refreshed without any issues. It was truly able to provide a much needed balance.
Olay Regenerist Luminous Dark Circle Correcting Hydraswirl
Like myself, most busy moms suffer from dark under eye circles. Pair that with my anemia and we have a real problem! The Olay Regenerist Luminous Dark Circle Correcting Hydraswirl contains smart, multi colored pearlescent pigments that provide instant brightness and illumination by reducing the appearance of dark circles for vibrant, healthy looking skin. Heaven knows I needed a product like this, and perhaps that’s why it was my favorite of the three. First, I don’t think the packaging could be any cooler if they tried. I love how Olay visually incorporated the swirl concept! Since being diagnosed with a cornea disease, I am always extra cautious when using products near or around my eyes. After just over a week of use, I have begun to see a subtle lightening in my under eye area. This is especially impressive since it is near my monthly lady time and that tends to be when my dark circles are at their worst. I look forward to noticing more dramatic results and a more even skin tone in my eye area over the coming weeks.
Although I would make a few small changes, such as removing the fragrances, I am an overall fan of the Olay Regenerist Luminous skin care line. I plan to continue the three step routine and hope to see a noticeable luminous glow that becomes a permanent radiance in the near future!
