I participated in an Ambassador program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Kohl’s. I received Kohl’s gift cards and sample pieces to facilitate my posts and as a thank you for participating.

Readers, we have a problem.

Actually I have a problem.

A shopping problem and I just can not seem to keep myself out of Kohl’s stores.

Between their outstanding sales, extreme discount coupons that arrive via postal mail, email and newspaper, and the Kohl’s cash I earn after a purchase, the sweet incentives alone are enough to keep me coming back, but those aren’t the only reasons that Kohl’s seems to have a gravitational pull on my heart. The superb quality of the merchandise they carry never ceases to impress me. Kohl’s is proof that you don’t have to spend a fortune or break the bank to purchase superior products.Their exquisite customer service and accommodating return policies are just additional reasons why Kohl’s is the head honcho on my retail list.

No wonder I can’t get enough!

Finally my adoration for Kohl’s has paid off! I am over the moon to announce that I have been chosen as a Kohl’s Fashion Ambassador in partnership with Mom Central. Over the next couple of months I will photograph some of my favorite spring looks that all consist of Kohl’s pieces, share some of this season’s hottest trends, introduce you to an American designer whose line is arriving at Kohl’s, and much more. I really hope you’re as excited as I am!

Although I am a busy mom, I absolutely refuse to be the type that wears nothing but yoga pants (or even worse pajama pants) every day. That just isn’t me, and while I don’t consider my fashion style upscale, elegant or classic, I do prefer to look well put together and purchase pieces that are comfortable, cute and versatile. Those that can look just as good during a day of volunteering in kids’ classrooms as they can on an evening out with the ladies. Kohl’s is certainly my go-to store whether I need a unique outfit for a special occasion or a few new seasonal pieces to spruce up my wardrobe!

Thanks to Kohl’s making it easy and affordable to get the latest looks for the season, I was ready to browse the racks for one of this spring’s hottest trends: Pink! I chose to head out to a Kohl’s store and search for some key spring pieces with the one person I know that loves Kohl’s even more than I do: my mother. Seriously, this woman visits a Kohl’s store at least once a week, has a Kohl’s credit card and resembles a lottery jackpot winner if she scores a 30% off coupon. Who better to shop with?

When we entered Kohl’s we saw signs for their Wink Of Pink campaign everywhere. Since pink is one of my favorite colors (that comes naturally with two daughters I suppose) and I always feel the need to incorporate more color in my seemingly non stop neutral wardrobe, this was perfect!

We made a straight shot to the area where any experienced bargain shopper would begin their afternoon of purchasing: the clearance racks, and let me tell you, they were plentiful. Kohl’s always seems to have an amazing array of discounted items perfect for my budget and I knew before stepping foot in store that I would find a few must have items within the sale stands. That wasn’t all! Between the clearance areas and the wide variety of misses fashions by some great designers, my mother and I spent a good two hours scoring spring essentials.

Along with pink some other top notch trends of the season include:

Roll-Cuff Denim

Mixed Media Tops

Feminine Blouses

Lace

Nautical Stripes

Statement Necklaces

Laser-Cut Shoes & Handbags

So how did I choose to wear pink and incorporate additional fads of the season?

Outfit one consisted of a Sonoma bright pink floral challis top ($36) and a pair of Apt. 9 denim capris ($44) paired with the strappy white sandals I wore to shop that day. Not only was this ensemble super comfortable, it was flirty and feminine. Absolutely perfect for springtime!

Outfit two was made of an Apt. 9 gray maxi dress ($40), a bright pink Apt. 9 shopper bag ($59) and an Apt. 9 silver tone pink flower necklace ($24). In this ensemble I chose to add bright pops of pink to a neutral shade rather than make it the main focus of the outfit. I fell in love with the lace areas of the maxi dress, which fit quite well since lace is another big trend this season.

Outfit three was constructed with Elle cuffed twill capris in sage green ($44) and a LC Lauren Conrad floral chiffon peasant top in minsk marshmallow ($44), as well as my white strappy sandals again. This combination was a fast favorite since the capris were durable and a bit heavy, yet the light airy blouse really brought in a gentle girlish flare.

Here are some beautiful pink tops that for one reason or another didn’t make it to the checkout and into my bag. Just because they weren’t perfect for me, doesn’t mean they wouldn’t be a dream come true for any of you, so I felt they needed to be showcased and shown some love anyway.

I also thought it would be fun to share why versatility is so important to me. The best way to do this was by taking a key piece, in this case another pair of Apt. 9 denim capris ($44), and sharing how I can dress them up and down, just by pairing it with different tops and shoes.

Dress It DownI dressed down my pair of denim capris by pairing them with a Sonoma everyday tee in navy ($14), a Sonoma mixed media denim jacket ($60) and a casual pair of Keds oxford shoes ($44.99). This was my favorite ensemble of the day and I think that is truly because these pieces include everything I look for in wardrobe staples!

Dress It Up
I dressed up my capris by rocking them with an IZ Byer lace back top ($38) (which I later learned is actually a juniors piece, but I found it on the misses clearance rack for just $18.99) and a pair of Sonoma platform wedge sandals in white ($55.99). I could easily wear this outfit on a date night with my husband or an evening spent dancing on the Las Vegas strip.

The most difficult part of my Kohl’s shopping adventure was deciding which piece to purchase with my allotted gift card amount, and which to put back on the shelves for next time. I happened to have a 20% off coupon, and added $12 out of pocket to my purchase, however, I received $20 back in Kohl’s cash, which means I actually made money shopping! If that wasn’t awesome enough, I saw the sign pictured above as we headed out the door after an afternoon of fashion fun. Their motto is certainly true. At Kohl’s you can expect great things!
