After my lustful browsing experience I was given an opportunity to design my very own custom Sterling Silver Heart Locket (staring at just $41.95) and could not wait to allow my creativity to take flight. Since I truly feel it is better to give than to receive, I decided to create this special piece for my mother in law as a way to express to her how very loved and appreciated she is.

To begin, I had to first select how I wanted the front of the locket to appear. There were a lot of standout selections, but I feel the clipart I chose was mature enough for a grandmother to wear, while still appearing lighthearted and fun.
Next was the inside left section of the locket. I chose to add text to this area and had it say We Love You Grandma in a beautiful script font. I was able to arrange and center the text as I saw fit, which is something a detail oriented person like myself really appreciates.
I then moved on to the inside right section of the locket and decided this would be a great place for a photo. When choosing to add a photo to a PicturesOnGold.com locket, customers have the option of uploading or emailing a photo of their choice to take advantage of the precise laser engraving feature that is available in black and white or color. Plenty of photo types are accepted and I was astonished at how easy the entire process was for me, which included positioning the photo. Customers can also select to mail in their paper pictures and have it placed inside the locket the good old fashioned way if they prefer.
I chose to leave the back side of the locket blank and really appreciated that I was able to see a full preview of my custom piece prior to checkout. Overall I found the entire PicturesOnGold.com website easy to navigate and the entire locket designing process both extremely fun and simple.
Within about ten days, I received our completed locket in the mail and was impressed by the stunning results. Both the engraved clipart on the front and text inside were perfect and precise, while the color laser engraved photo was so spot on. I know this precious piece will thrill my mother in law and I can not wait to start my search for a very special gift for Makenna to mark her milestone tenth birthday this summer!
