BISCAMP, ROY GENE Age 90, passed away Friday, January 16, 2015. He was born in Beaumont, TX on August 18, 1924, to Emmette and Pauline Biscamp. Roy graduated from San Jacinto High School, Houston TX, in 1942, he then attended North Texas Agricultural College from 1942-1943, then Fordham University where he graduated from the Army Specialist Training Program 1943-1944, he then graduated from The University of TX in 1951 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Petroleum Engineering. Roy's military career consist of the U.S. Army 104th Infantry Division in France, Holland, Belgium and Germany. He was a PFC Automatic Rifleman, an expert BAR Gunner and wounded in WWII in November of 1944 at Huergten Forrest Western Europe at the age of 19. Roy was then awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star with V device for heroism (the 4th highest award for valor) Combat Infantryman. He was a FAA Civil Engineer-Senior Airport Engineer at the Albuquerque NM Sunport International Airport for twenty six years and retired GS15. He also worked for the DOT for the Sate of New Mexico - Senior Engineer Santa Fe for eight years until he retired in 1992. Roy was also State President of NMSPE (NM Society of Professional Engineers) and on the Board Registered Professional Engineer New Mexico and Texas and has won multiple awards and accommodations for civil engineering. He married his wife of fifty years Sylvia (Williams) Biscamp on January 29, 1965 in Bridge, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marie Wackym and his brother Robert Biscamp. Roy is survived by wife, Sylvia Mae Biscamp of Albuquerque, NM; his children, Emmette E. Biscamp II of N. Richard Hills, TX, Mary Anne Tipton of Rio Rancho, NM, Elayne N. Biscamp of Albuquerque, NM, Lewis W. Biscamp of Santa Fe, NM; siblings, Godfrey W. Biscamp of Houston , TX and Dolores Vernon of Baytown, TX; grandchildren, Dax R.Tipton, Lucas K. Tipton, Sharlyn Biscamp, Nicolas Shortencarier, Alexander Shortcarier; great-great-grandchildren, Contessa York, Haley Parker, Jareth A. Tipton, Timothy Parker, Delaney Smyth, Lilith Bachman. A Celebration of Life Open House Reception will be held on Monday, January 26, 2015 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Daniels Family Funeral Services Sun Room. Interment to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 2:15pm.
