LINDBERG, MARY ANN MaryAnn Lindberg (formerly Mary Ann Unze) died peacefully on July 9, 2013 at her home in Greenfield, MN, after a yearlong struggle with cancer. MaryAnn was born Dec. 8th, in St. Paul, MN, to John and Lilly Schmid. MaryAnn enjoyed a full, rich life. Her feisty determination, quick wit and genuine interest in people endeared her to all. Diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis at age 3, MaryAnn gracefully battled health concerns all her life. She grew up in a loving home with four siblings and graduated from Derham Hall in St. Paul. She studied Art at the U of Minn and Highlands Univ. in NM. As a young bride, MaryAnn Unze moved to Las Vegas, NM where she became an active member of the NM Watercolor Society. Her beautiful water colors are still enjoyed by her family and friends. MaryAnn had three children and was actively involved in her children's education - starting the campus bookstore for St. Pius X High and volunteering regularly at the ABQ Academy. She was an Extraordinary Minister at Church of the Annunciation and a member of Albuquerque Women's Symphony Association. In the late 80s Mary Ann returned to MN to be near her family. She soon met the love of her life Clyde Lindberg. They married in 1991 and enjoyed 22 years of fishing, travel, cards, gardening, and adventure. After retirement, Mary Ann volunteered as a poll worker, mentored in support groups, and became a supporter of Wounded Warriors. She was actively engaged in the lives of her many nieces, nephews, children and grandchildren. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Lillian Schmid. She is survived by her adoring husband Clyde Lindberg; her children Jill (David) Buczkowski, Jeff (Athena) Unze, Mara (Jeramie) Lund; her grandkids Parker, Spencer and Lilly; her four siblings; a number of other relatives; and close friends. The funeral service will be held at Lakewood Cemetery Chapel (3600 Hennepin Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55408) at 10:00am, Saturday, July 13.
