GILBERT OLONA, TIMOTHY MICHAEL PETER Age 47, of Whitesburg, passed away November 24, 2012. Tim was an aeronautical engineer who worked for Boeing, and Delta Airlines. He designed the wings for the Space Shuttle Endeavor, and most recently he was trying his hand at farming. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Eloy Gilbert; paternal grandparents, Manuel J. and Isabel Olona. He was born on May 26, 1965 in Florida to Emmanuel and Carolyn Gilbert Olona, who survive. He is also survived by his wife, Natasha Gilbert, of Whitesburg; maternal grandmother, Rita Gilbert, of Albuquerque, NM; brothers, Gene Olona and his wife Claire, of Columbia SC, Mark Olona and his wife Holly, of Albuquerque, NM; father and mother-in-law, Nikolai and Margarita Telminov; brother-in-law, Guennadi Telminov; uncle, Monsignor Richard J. Olona, of Albuquerque, NM; nephews, A.J. and Ryan Olona; and many other aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services were held in Newnan, Georgia on December 1, 2012 at St. George Catholic Church. A Committal Service will be held on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 10:00 am in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery Chapel, with Monsignor Richard J. Olona, officiating. 1900 Edith Boulevard NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102. Interment will follow. A reception will be held following the interment at the Daniels Family Funeral Services Reception Center, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. Pallbearers will be Guennadi Telminov, Mark Olona, Dennis Olona, Albert Lucero, Edward Barengo and Robert Alarid.
