Oconomowoc Sports Booster Club Funds New Storage Shed for OHS Athletics

Oconomowoc, WI – September 20, 2016.  A new storage facility for high school athletics is now under construction, thanks to the generosity of the Oconomowoc Sports Booster Club.  “This new building will allow us to free up space in the existing concessions building,” said Athletic Director Kevin Flegner. “We will now have room for visiting teams to have more locker room space, and provide hospitality and shelter for visiting coaches and personnel. We’re very grateful to the Boosters for their continued support of improvements to the athletic facilities that benefit all students,” said Flegner.

The existing concessions building has not only been used for selling football and soccer concessions, but also for storing track and field as well as football practice equipment. Athletic equipment and supplies will be moved to the new 24ft x 60ft steel building, along with motorized carts, tents, flags, field markers and all the equipment needed to run track and field events and football practices and games.

“The Oconomowoc Sports Booster Club is proud to support the building of the new Athletic Storage Building.   It will be another great physical representation of the commitment that this club and our community has to Oconomowoc Athletics,” said OSBC President Terry Brandl.

The new storage building is located on the south end of the stadium and will look similar to the current building. Jon Fleming is the general contractor and Griswold Construction is working on the concrete. The total cost of the structure is approximately $53,000 and is entirely funded by the OSBC. No district funds will be used.

“We are fortunate to have so many great supporters of OASD, and nowhere is that more evident than with the Oconomowoc Sports Booster Club,” said Superintendent Roger Rindo, Ed.D. “This new storage facility will enhance an already outstanding athletic complex. We are grateful for their continued support of our students and OHS athletic programs.”
