This weekend sees Cox Motorsport head to Rod Millen’s Leadfoot Ranch in Hahei for the prestigious Leadfoot Festival being held on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th February. This year marks the third time Rotorua driver Sloan Cox has attacked the event and with great finishes every year, including a third overall in 2016, Cox is aiming to go one better this year.

Ahead of this event a lot of preparation work has gone into the Cox Motorsport Hillclimb Beast and the team are feeling better prepared than previous years. The car has been fitted out with the latest turbo giving it more power, paired with the best tyres possible and hopefully fine weather, the team are confident they have the right setup to go even faster this year.

The Leadfoot Festival is a great event to spectate at and get up close to the drivers and their cars. If you love your motorsport and have never been to this event, it is definitely one not to miss. The elite class of competitors will make for an extremely tough competition and a fantastic two days of motorsport. The aim of the weekend is to post a quick enough time during the qualifying runs to make it into the top 10 shootout on Sunday afternoon to challenge for the overall event win.

“I can’t wait for this year’s Leadfoot Festival. We are going there this year a lot more prepared than previous years. Even though the competition is getting stronger every year, we are going there with the aim to take the top spot out”, states Cox.

The Leadfoot Ranch opens this Saturday at 7am with racing commencing at 8am on both days. If you haven’t bought your tickets yet it is not too late to join in the action. Tickets can be bought online at www.leadfootfestival.com.
