* Mayor Bill de Blasio said he will again try to open a homeless shelter in the Maspeth neighborhood of Queens, where angry residents blocked a planned men’s shelter last fall, the Daily News reports.
* The city's public advocate blasted de Blasio’s plan to curtail homelessness, calling on City Hall to build more low- and moderate-income housing instead of just shelters, the Daily News writes.

* After President Donald Trump fired or had Brooklyn U.S. Attorney Robert Capers and 45 other U.S. Attorneys resign, the race is on to find a replacement for Capers’ position and several candidates are vying for the job, the Daily News writes.
