Bohman and Graham are both members of Morphogenesis and have been playing together since 1991. The work of the duo centres around some of the ideas used in Morphogenesis, including a use of live electronics and free improvisation using home made instruments, pre-recorded tape and contact microphones. In addition the duo also share ideas from Bohman’s other side project, Secluded Bronte, who use live spoken word text collages which adds an element of theatre and humour to the proceedings.

Johannes Bergmark (Sweden)

Surrealist Musical Object Theatre with the evolutionary meta-instrument or amplified stage called the Platform. With his main activity as an improvising musician, experimental musical instruments-, sound sculptures/-installations/-environments maker, writer and electroacoustic- and text-sound-composer, JB has developed over butoh, sound poetry, jester theatre and performance art into a kind of audiovisual object theatre performed as a concert but with a setting as a surrealist puppet play of toys, tools, kitchen utensils, materials, weird and kitsch decorative things and junk found on streets and flea markets. The objects bring their history and connotations as well as their often microscopic sound potentials on the little stage, made from a cupboard door with a hidden contact microphone under the floor (usually amplified without any electronic treatments), suspended over the table with a clamp like a springboard into a poor man’s utopia where the junk will dance it’s own dance.

Media artist Jukka Hautamäki (b. 1971), born in Oulu, lives and works in Helsinki, Finland. Hautamäki works with found materials, electronics, sound, light and video. Hautamäkis sound performances are microscopic studies into electronic sound. Live setup consists of DIY sound devices, which he manipulates in real time by changing components and reconnecting circuits. Recent setup has included under-hood work lights, solar cells, electronicmagnetic sources, coil mics, diy amps and potatoes. Relationship between performativity and sound plays a significant role in the live performances. Music style could be described as abstract ambient noise with a twist. Hautamäki has performed live in Europe and North America. Performance venues include Labas Biennale, Lal lal lal and AAVE festival in Helsinki, Ges21 in St. Petersburg, Mengi in Reykjavik, Avatar Centre in Quebec City, Electric Knife in London and Madame Claude in Berlin.
