One of the loose ends up after the Battle of New York finds the Avengers in Eastern European Sokovia. And there the Avengers in the latest movie Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron encounter two new characters, Pietro aka Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and his twin sister Wanda aka The Scarlett Witch (Elizabeth Olsen.)
So who are the newest Marvel characters in The Avengers: Age of Ultron? Aaron Taylor-Johnson is known for his role as the lead in Kick-Ass playing a pretend superhero and while Elizabeth Olsen has built up quite the filmography including the critically acclaimed Martha Marcy May Marlene, I am sure her face will seem familiar (hint, hint – think Mary Kate and Ashley.)

6 Fun Facts I learned Interviewing Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Quicksilver) and Elizabeth Olsen (The Scarlett Witch)
1. They knew each other from having worked on Godzilla. This made coming to the movie a bit easier since they were the new kids on the block coming into an ensemble cast that knew other well. Aaron Taylor-Johnson told us, “It’s always a little bit intimidating coming into a big cast like this so it was really great being able to work with Elizabeth, so much since we worked together in Godzilla.”
2. Neither actor had to audition for their respective roles – According to Elizabeth, they both met with Joss separately but found out that they both got their roles right after Godzilla had finished filming.
3. Playing the Scarlett Witch, Elizabeth getting the right look and fluidity in the characters took weeks of practice. She worked with a movement coach rather than a stunt coach because of her character’s superpowers. She found working with a dancer added a “different element to the fighting” without the punches and something more circular.
4. Elizabeth felt funny during much of the filming of the movie, “I’m not making contact with anything, literally zero contact. She felt there was a lot trust that goes in when you are working in special effects. “After seeing the movie I was like aha, now I am comfortable.”
5. The final fight scene was epically long, taking two to three weeks to film.
6. With a name like Quicksilver, you can imagine that Taylor-Johnson’s character is quick. While there special effects were used, he actually had to run a lot during the filming.
