The New York Permaculture Meetup

This meetup is held the first Tuesday of each month and has two purposes.

Firstly, it serves as a general networking opportunity for Permies in the area to meet each other and to provide mutual aid. What are you struggling with that you need help with? What is everyone working on and where? Who is available to help each other with projects?

Secondly, this is an information session to increase knowledge about all facets of permaculture from farming practices, to economic systems, and community building. This month's theme will be "Life After the PDC." We'll be talking about our experiences taking Permaculture Design Certificate courses, what lessons stood out for us, and how we're now applying what we've learned.

Maybe some of you have created urban farms or community gardens, and maybe others have gone on to convince your employer to reduce sewage or electrical waste at your job site. Or maybe, some of you have even gone on to join an ecovillage, the Occupy movement, or promote an alternative economic model such as bartering. Whatever you've been up to, we'd like to hear from you! If you haven't taken a PDC yet, then this will be a great opportunity for you to learn about different programs and potential job paths using a permaculture education.

*A $5 donation will be optional for our meetups. Proceeds help sponsor PDC students, establish and maintain demonstration sites, purchase land for a land trust network, and other sustainable culture educational projects in the Northeast. The PayPal link sends a donation to Green Phoenix Permaculture, a 501c3 organization.*
