Monday, April 7

Girls Raising, 6 - 8:30 pm

Girls Raising presentations are a series of events geared towards helping women-founded startups get publicity, network with like-minded entrepreneurs, and meet influential women that can move their businesses forward (men are invited too!) Tickets are currently SOLD OUT but you can still sign up to pitch at future events. 

Kaplan EdTech Accelerator, 6 - 8 pm

Techstars and Kaplan have joined forces this year for a startup accelerator dedicated to EdTech. The 15-week program will be based in New York City, and will offer unprecedented access for 10 EdTech teams. Get more info on the accelearator at the info session.

Driving Innovation at Fortune 100, 12 pm

Hear from Wendy Mayer, VP of Worldwide Innovation at Pfizer who will discuss how Pfizer is defining innovation, and what they are doing to be more innovative from a business output and culture standpoint. 

Build Break and Defend - Innovation in Cybersecurity and Ethical Hacking, 6 - 8 pm

Leaders in cybersecurity will discuss some of the best practices and strategies we can take as consumers and as entrepreneurs. Free and open to the public, refreshments will be served. 

Inside the Founders Studio, 7 pm

CEO and co-founder of Timehop will be at Meetup headquarters to share insights on the founding of his company. 

Bluetooth Night, 7 pm

At the New York iOS Developer Meetup, learn about CoreBluetooth and custom hardware. Objectlab will also be presenting a live end-to-end demo fo iBeacons and Corelocation.

Wednesday, April 9

NYC Next Idea Final Round, 5:45 - 9 pm

Join NYC Next Idea as the final 6 teams compete for the top spot of $35,000. Jon Steinberg, President and COO of BuzzFeed, will be the Keynote. RSVP required. 

Hacknight with Regional Plan Association and BetaNYC, 7 pm

Preview the benchmarking analysis and interactive maps that RPA will be releasing at its annual Assembly on April 25. Data sets will be available at the event. RPA will explain the data and open the night for hacking, visualizing, and discussion.

April 2014 NY Enterprise Technology Meetup, 6:45 - 9 pm

Join fellow technologists, entrepreneurs, and investors for the NY Enterprise Technology Meetup April meetup. This month’s meetup there will include an Enterprise VC Feedback Forum.

AdTech Gets Hacked in Lower Manhattan, 5:30 - 8:30

LaunchLM and CloudRFP are bringing together the technical ‘big guns’ in today’s ad tech space to talk about specific industry challenges. The format will include several presentations (each approximately 15 minutes) featuring real data and real solutions

From Somewear to Everywear, 6:30 pm

Presented by Professor of Computer Science at Columbia University, Steven Feiner explores the past, present, and future of wearable computing, with an emphasis on how computer media can overlay our experience of the physical world. This event is free and open to the public.

Models That Drive Real-World Decisions, 7 - 9 pm

Josh Wills, director of data science at Cloudera, will talk to the NYC Data Science meetup about what the modeling process looks like to a data scientist, what we can all learn from the success of credit risk modeling, and what tools we need in order to make the process better.

Friday, April 11

Startup Columbia, 8:30 am - 6 pm

Drew Houston, Dropbox and Walt Mossberg, Re/code join Startup Columbia in a conversation about tech entrepreneurship. Other guests include Geoffrey Canada of Harlem Children’s Zone and Claire Shipman, of Good Morning America who will discuss social entrepreneurship. \
