NURTUREart is currently accepting applications for volunteers. Students seeking internship credit for the fall semester are eligible to apply as well.
The deadline to apply is September 15, 2016.
NURTUREart welcomes volunteers and interns in all aspects of nonprofit gallery management and public event programming. Our Volunteer and Student Program connects bright, enthusiastic, and responsible individuals and students to the emerging arts community. We support participants of the Volunteer and Student Program to develop skills for a career in the contemporary arts and nonprofit sector.
We encourage participants in our Volunteer and Student Program to share the professional skills they would like to develop—from carpentry, art installation, and documentation to writing, event planning, marketing, and design. Joining our team is a great way to become active in your art community, expand your network, and develop your professional skills.
Volunteers and students work directly with NURTUREart staff. Participants are asked to dedicate 6–12 hours per week for 3–4 months. Scheduling is flexible and will be coordinated with the Gallery Manager.
NURTUREart is a Brooklyn-based nonprofit that transforms the lives of emerging artists, emerging curators, and local public school students by providing them resources, support, and platforms to nourish creativity and strengthen dynamic communities in New York City and beyond. What began in 1997 as a slide registry in a filing cabinet, NURTUREart today supports more than 50 artists and curators, presents more than 20 public events, and reaches more than 200 public school students annually.
To apply, please email a resume and cover letter, stating your interest in NURTUREart and whether you would like to be considered as a volunteer or student, to ivan@nurtureart.org with “Volunteer and Student Program” in the subject line.
