About the School of Nursing
QUT’s School of Nursing produces highly regarded professional nurses through the full range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses from Bachelor to PhD. About the Position
We seek an appointee with a passion for leading and driving innovation in nursing education and research, and supporting students from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. QUT’s Caboolture campus provides enriching opportunities and rewarding challenges in terms of connections with the local community. Our Caboolture staff and students aim to give back to the community, with nursing students completing practical work in local hospitals where they can make the most difference. With this role comes the opportunity to build student confidence and contribute to grassroots change. The role will suit a nurse who is excited by the opportunity to lead education and research through innovation, and provide students with skills that reflect the needs of the community now and into the future.

Key responsibilities

Facilitate excellence in undergraduate teaching through the development and promotion of innovative teaching methods and blended learning.

Undertake research including publication in high quality peer reviewed journals and collaborate in submission of applications for research grants.

Coordinate and teach units across all levels of the programs.

Provide authentic real-world learning and assessment.

Actively participate in unit and curriculum review and design.

Engage in professional placement development.

Supervise research students at both postgraduate and undergraduate levels.

Effectively engage with industry partners and professional associations at state and national levels.

Selection Criteria

Completion of a doctoral qualification or progression towards completion of a doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline area. Eligibility to register as a registered nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.

Demonstrated understanding of the changing context of health care and  ability to create contemporary ways of working with the health care sector.

Demonstrated ability to embed innovative and transformational approaches to learning and teaching.

Record of contribution to high impact research/scholarship in an area.

Demonstrated capacity to effectively supervise research students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.

Proven ability to contribute to a high performance and collaborative culture.

Salary and Benefits
The classification for this position is Academic Level B which has an annual salary range of $89,257 to $106,003.
