Well here we go again, no new players in and a heap of fringe players out. These transfer windows are no longer a source of potential excitement as we wait for new players to be signed. Actually, they are less like a window and more like an exit door at the moment. Most of the younger players we have loaned out have been no where near the first team this season so if they get first team action at Rangers it can only be a good thing as far as I am concerned. The lack of incoming players has always been a source of frustration and anger and that is set to continue as the season enters it’s later stages. Well there it is.. One thing that stands out is that clubs seem to be shedding a lot of players to lower division English clubs and abroad. It’s interesting to see Spurs and Liverpool were also clubs not to open the cheque book this window. Maybe the financial fairplay rules are having an effect??
Anyway, it is as you were (minus a few players) for Newcastle and it will be interesting to see how the rest of the season plays out. We can only hope that we are not hit with too many injuries over the last stretch of games. We have Abied, Aarons and DeJong on the cusp of being fit enough to get a start in the first team again so there is a sliver of light at the the end of the tunnel.
