710 ESPN Radio/Seattle (KIRO-AM) has set August 21st as the date for the John Clayton’s fifth annual Fantasy Football Camp at Tacoma’s Emerald Queen Casino. Some 500+ participants are expected to join Clayton, along with ESPN’s Kenny Mayne and a “star-studded list of guest panelists.” All participants will be entered into the 710 ESPN Seattle Fantasy Football League for a chance at a $10,000 grand prize, the largest pot in the event’s history … Westwood One is collaborating with its 500+ AM and FM station partners to promote its prime time Monday, Thursday, and Sunday Night NFL broadcasts, providing affiliates with Game Day packages that include game-specific audio highlights, on-air vignettes, special features, and customized tune-in promos featuring the network’s broadcast team —  Kevin Harlan, Scott Graham, Kevin Kugler, Ian Eagle, and James Lofton … Upstart Motor City Sports/Talker Detroit Sports 105.1 (WMGC) had hoped to broadcast some of the station’s shows live from the Detroit Lions training camp this season, but the team’s radio rights holder — crosstown CBS Radio Sports competitor 97.1 The Ticket (WXYT-FM) – reportedly put the kibosh on those plans, forcing the crew at Detroit Sports 105.1 to “rise” to the occasion. That’s the Greater Media-owned Sports/Talker’s mid-morning duo Ryan & Rico (pictured) broadcasting live from high atop a 50-foot scissor-lift, craftily parked in a lot located just across the street from the Lions’ facility, where they captured what was likely a good deal more attention from fans and local media than they would have had they actually been allowed to broadcast from inside the camp. (photo by Jimmy Kemp)
