The Sherpa 2 is a complete makeover of the original Sherpa and looks completely different. The aluminum body uses a sleek ovalized frame and all-new bike tray design with flip-out wheel trays. The original Sherpa fit bikes with wheelbases up to 44 inches and tires to 2.75 inches wide; the new design fits more plus-size tires, and wheelbases up to 47 inches.
The tire ratchet hook is redesigned for easier use, bike spacing is boosted one inch (up to 14) for better clearance with wide handlebars, and the rack pivot system is now easier to use when you want to fold it up to access the tailgate or trunk. The two-bike system weighs 32 pounds, carries bikes up to 40 pounds each, and is available with dedicated 2” and 1.25” receiver mounts that install with a no-tools cam system you can hand tighten. Suggested retail is $489 and it comes in three colors, including the pearl white shown here.
