Walk to raise funds and awareness for Breast Cancer in Bermuda at the 19th Annual BF&M Breast Cancer Walk on Wednesday, October 21st.
The walk will start at 6pm from Barr’s Bay Park, returning to the same location.

Learning Experience 2015

Raising funds for Agape House, our island’s only hospice, the Annual Glow in the Dark Duck Race & Party will take place on Saturday, October 24th.
Hosted in the beautiful grounds of a private home in Point Shares in Pembroke with twinkling lights and personal glow items lighting up the evening, the party will include an elegant buffet, dancing, auction items, face painting, the “Glow Silly” photo booth, and glowing duck races. Take a meander around the grounds through the foot path and enjoy the last of the full moon glow. Have a look through the auction prizes available provided by some of Bermuda’s best artisans. This event was originally scheduled for October 3rd but was postponed due to Hurricane Joaquin.

Providing an opportunity for visitors and locals to experience and interact with Bermudian artists and performers while exploring the town of St George’s, the Art Walk is a dynamic exploration of our cultural landscape by promoting and celebrating art in Bermuda, in all its forms.
Running from 2pm until 6pm, it will have the theme of Masquerade that will play on the significance of the dance and costume of Bermuda’s Gombeys, in combination with the fantasy and artistic expression of masks. From 6.30pm until 8.30pm, the fun will move over to Tobacco Bay, where you can enjoy performances from Taylor Rankin and his violin Leroy, DIA, Joy T Barnum, and more.

Tomorrow’s Voices invite you to join them for their October Workshop, Daily Living Skills: Moving Towards Independence on Thursday, October 29th
Think about all the routines that you complete throughout the day: Hygiene, self-care, dressing, navigating to school or work, purchasing items, feeding pets, cooking, eating, chores and more. These skills are required to live an independent and meaningful life, yet many people living with developmental disabilities often require support from others to do these skills.
Running from 6pm until 8pm at Tomorrow’s Voices on King Street, this training is designed to teach strategies and tools to improve independence in these areas, which will ultimately lead to a better quality of life for their clients and their families. For this workshop, they will be joined by Mr. Moffat Makomo, Occupational Therapist at Child and Adolescent.
A Professional Development Certificate will be provided to attendees and food and drinks will be served.
The cost of the workshop is $25.

Ana Luna bids adieu to the magnificent worms of the night in the last Glow Worm Safaris of the season on Thursday and Friday, October 29th and 30th.
This exotic evening on the seas will begin when the boat departs from the dock at Grotto Bay at 6pm. After enjoying the pinks and blues of the sunset, you can witness the glow-in-the-dark mating ritual of these unusual creatures, performed two and three days after the full moon during the warmer months. Following the worm display, you will enjoy moonrise with a complimentary champagne toast, before returning to the dock by around 9pm.
Since it’s so close to Halloween, there will also be prizes for the best costumes, so don’t dare to be square!
The cost is $69 per person, including a cash bar, light snack, hibiscus tea and fresh water, along with the toast, all included.

Support the Friends of the College Library at their Book Sale running until Friday, October 30th.
This will take place in the Bermuda College Library from 9am until 8pm, Monday to Friday.
Hundreds of gently used books will be on sale for your reading pleasure, with topics including interior decorating, cooking, novels, art books, biographies, crafts, rare & Bermuda books and a whole lot more.
Paperbacks cost $1 and hardbacks cost $2. All proceeds will benefit the Bermuda College Library.

DHL and Heineken present the 2015 Rugby World Cup Final at Pier 6 on Saturday, October 31st.
From 10am until 4pm, you are invited to join the Bermuda Rugby Family and watch the match on the Video Wall. Food is also available for sale.
Admission is $20 per person, which includes one free Heineken. All proceeds will go to the Bermuda Rugby Football Union (Registered Charity # 641).
Party With A Princess, Ltd. are hosting their Halloween Spooktacular and VIP Tea Party at the Arboretum on Saturday, October 31st.
This year’s theme will be Pirates and Princesses, although children may come in any costume they desire, and there are two different package options on offer.
The first is a VIP Tea Party package, essentially a three and a half hour catered event from 2.30pm, while the Spooktacular package is a slightly shorter duration from 3.30pm, but with many activities to keep the family entertained.
Tickets for the VIP Tea party package will be sold by character seating. Each character or characters will have their own section on a first come, first served basis. There are only a handful of tickets left for the more popular characters such as the pirates, Ice Queen and Ice Princess, and space for larger parties remaining with several of the other princesses.
As well as a more personal character experience, The VIP Tea Party package includes finger foods from Island Restaurant Group, tea/coffee and juice. These ticket holders will have a special interaction with and entertainment from the characters. Children will have the opportunity to interact with all of the characters, but will have more time with the character that they bought the ticket for. There will be a pirate section and a Tinker Bell and Peter Pan section, which will be a beautiful garden setting sponsored by Sousa’s Landscaping. In addition, these ticket holders will have full usage of the Spooktacular area, which will have many inflatables and further character interaction.
All guests may participate in the costume parade to win prizes, pumpkin carving contest and the spooky and not so spooky trick or treat treasure hunt, where the Grave Keeper will lead the children around the treasure hunt and through the grave yard telling a creepy story. The trick or treat treasure hunt will start at 5.15pm.
The VIP Tea party package costs $65 per ticket, and are available up until October 24th in order to confirm catering numbers. Tickets for the Spooktacular area are $25 per person.

The last Bermuda Karate Institute (BKI) competition of 2015 will be the 28th Annual Skippy Kick, an open martial arts tournament for all levels and styles, juniors and adults, on Sunday, November 1st.
This will be from 1pm at Pembroke Sunday School and will include forms, weapons forms, point sparring, and K-1.

A stimulating and thought-provoking time is in store at An Evening of Clairvoyance with acclaimed British Medium Jeanine Glynn on Thursday and Friday, November 5th and 6th.
This will be from 7pm each evening in the Earl Cameron Theatre at City Hall and organisers promise that, such is the quality of her presentation, those listening leave her reluctantly. As a medium, Jeanine works with her spirit guide and other helpers in the spirit world in order to prove beyond reasonable doubt that our loved ones continue to live on after the death of the physical body.

Somersfield Academy is once again hosting Peddlars Porch, its annual flea market sale, on Saturday, November 21st.
Running from 10am until 2pm, Peddlers Porch is open to both buyers and sellers and, in addition to the sale, there will also be a car wash, food concessions, ice-cream and baked goods.
The cost per spot is $35, or $25 if you provide your own table, and all spots are on the covered porch, making this a rain-or-shine event.

This year’s Warwick Academy Production is the comedy musical Bugsy Malone from Wednesday, November 25th to Saturday, November 28th.
Based on Alan Parker’s classic 1976 film of the same name, the play follows the exploits of Bugsy Malone, a regular guy caught in the crossfire of 1920’s American gang warfare represented in the guise of bumbling Fat Sam and suave Dandy Dan. Between his efforts to avoid the dreaded ‘splurge gun’ Bugsy encounters romance in the shape of homely actress Blousey Brown and the unwanted attentions of nightclub siren Tallulah.
With a cast of over 50 students, directed by Mr. Cunningham and produced by Mr. Jones, Bugsy Malone promises to be an action packed dazzling evening of drama and music – entertainment for all the family!
Showtime will be at 7.30pm nightly in the Phoebe Purvis Memorial Hall from Wednesday, November 25th to Friday, November 27th with a Gala Evening Presentation at 8pm on Saturday, November 28th.
Ticket are $25 for the Wednesday to Friday. On these nights there are also 5 VIP tables which seat a maximum of 4 people. These tables will be directly in front of the stage and will cost $200 each. Benefits include an outstanding view, nibbles and tantalizing food, plus the odd drink as part of the package.
The Gala Evening on the 28th costs $100 a seat (or $800 a table). The price includes a three course sit down meal, soft and alcoholic drinks, a live and ‘silent’ auction, plus a raffle.
