Happy Friday Kids!

Well, this is my last post of 2013 so I just wanted to wish you all a very merry Christmas for Wednesday and a very Happy New Year when it comes! And if you don’t celebrate Christmas, then I hope you enjoy the happy vibes at this time of year. Be good to each other and I hope 2014 is your best year yet!

Anyway, down to the latest Bermuda events – believe it or not, there are still even more options to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Bermuda to add to the list!  You are certainly spoiled for choice this year – check out all your options on the Calendar here or see the Quick Recap at the end of the post for a handy list:

 

A few NYE dining options from Fairmont Southampton on Tuesday, December 31st.  Firstly, is NYE Dinner and Entertainment at Jasmine Lounge.  From 6pm until 1am, you can enjoy a festive 3-course set meal or a selection from their a la carte menu, accompanied by live local entertainment from Exclusive.  The cost is $60, plus 17% grats, and reservations are not required.  Newport, a Gastropub is also offering a NYE Dinner.  From 6pm until 1am, you can enjoy a 4-course set meal or a selection from their a la carte menu. The cost is $80, plus 17% grats, and reservations are not required.  An NYE Buffet Dinner is on offer at Windows on the Sound between 7pm and 10pm.  The cost is $70, plus 17% grats, and reservations are required.  Finally, there is the opportunity to enjoy a gourmet 6-course menu, with an optional wine pairing, while enjoying live entertainment from Wayne Davis at the Waterlot Inn’s New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner.  This will be from 8.30pm until 1am and the cost is $249, plus 17% grats for the dinner and wine-pairing, or $120 for food only.  Reservations are required.  More details and menus can be seen here.  For more information, or to make a reservation, contact 238-8000.

 

Red Steakhouse and Bar invite you to join them in ringing in the New Year with elegance on Tuesday, December 31st. Their NYE celebrations will begin at 7pm and will include a decadent three course meal and amuse-bouche, while DJ Ole will be creating the mood with the newest tracks and mixes until 2am.  Midnight will be celebrated with champagne and a balloon drop from their vintage New Orleans ceiling fans. The dress code for the evening is cocktail attire, although they recommend creative black tie. The cost is $95 per person and the menu can be viewed at www.RedBermuda.com.  You can also upgrade to the VIP experience with bottle service and cheese platters. For more information, or to make a reservation, contact 292-7331

I.O.P. and D’General present a Back 2 The Future NYE Dinner Party at Coco Reef Resort on Tuesday, December 31st. The evening will start at 7.30pm with live entertainment and a free cocktail. This will be followed by dinner at 8.30pm, which will have banquet-style seating on tables of 6 to 10. The after-party will start at 10pm and will include one free drink, a champagne toast and party favours.  The evening will be hosted by Jah, and will include live entertainment and DJs D’General, Jugglin J and New Era. The dinner party costs $125, while the after-party is $75 per ticket. Dress code is semi-formal and attendees can enjoy special hotel rates at $99 per night, plus taxes. For more information, or to purchase tickets, contact iopbermuda@hotmail.com or visit Secrets or Kit ‘N Caboodle.

 

Colossal Entertainment’s 2nd Annual Black and Gold NYE Extravaganza at Ocean View will be on Tuesday, December 31st.  Doors open at 10pm and entertainment will be courtesy of Souljah One, DH Haily Hypes and Black Lion Sound.  Bottle service is available, as well as a complimentary glass of champagne while supplies last.  Party favours are available upon entry.  Tickets are $30 before midnight and $40 afterwards.

 

 

 

Celebrate New Year’s Eve and the official launch of the new Smirnoff flavours at the same time at Rumbar on Tuesday, December 31st.  Doors open for Sophisticated Ignorance II at 10pm, so bring your “sophisticated” NYE attire and enjoy a complimentary drink ticket and drink specials all night, door prizes, party favours, and a balloon drop.  YGS, DJ Rusty G and New Era, will be playing club hits, top 40′s, dancehall, pop, R&B, dance and electronic.  Early bird tickets are $30, regular tickets are $40.  For more information, visit www.OffLevelBDA.com.

 

 

Wild Apache, in association with Go Hard Ent. presents the Fire & Ice New Year’s Eve Bash at White Horse on Tuesday, December 31st.  Festivities start at 10pm and DJ Sheep Lenky Gaza will be providing the music.  This party is for over 21s only and general admission is $25.

 

 

 

 

 

Voodoo Wahoo are welcoming 2014 in carnival style at their Rockin’ Mardi Gras New Year’s Eve Party at Hog Penny on Tuesday, December 31st.  As you can probably tell by the title, this is a Mardi Gras theme night, complete with authentic decorations, complimentary beads and French Quarter masks for all late seating dinner patrons.  This will be from 10.30pm until 1.30am, dress code is smart casual and it is open to the public with no cover charge. Will Black is also hosting his “Regulars Only” dinner party for late seating at 8.30pm. ​For more information, or for reservations, contact 292-2534.

 

 

Promising the best in local entertainment, The Chewstick Foundation presents the Chewstick 11th Anniversary Artist Showcase Extravaganza at the Earl Cameron Theater at City Hall on Friday, January 3rd and Saturday, January 4th.  This is the first time that the celebrations are being held for two nights with a different lineup of artists on either night to showcase a broader range of talent. The opening reception will begin at 7pm followed by music, storytelling and an eclectic mix of talents at the showtime of 8pm.  Tickets are $30 for general admission, $20 for students, $100 for Patrons, and are available from www.pTix.bm.  For more information, contact 292-2439 or info@chewstick.org, or visit www.chewstick.org.

 

Want to burn off a little of that post-holiday flab? The Fairmont to Fairmont Road Race will take place on Sunday, January 5th. The Adult Race and the Relay Teams will both begin at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess at 9am and will end at the Fairmont Southampton, a route of 7.2 miles. There is also a 3K Junior Race and a Fairmont Adult Competitive Walker beginning at 8.30am. Registration is available until 5pm on Friday, January 3rd. There are a variety of prizes in different categories and age groups and other incentives include hanteens to all finishers as well as several prize draws, including two JetBlue airline tickets and a weekend stay at The Fairmont Battery Wharf in Boston.  The fee varies from $10 to $60, depending on the category, and $5 of each race fee will be donated to the The Family Centre.  This amount will be matched by Fairmont. For more details, please see www.RaceDayWorld.com or contact Sangeeta Wagh on 331-2826 or sangeetawagh@hotmail.com.
