Not only is it the August Bank Holiday this weekend (hooray!), it's also the annual Notting Hill Carnival in (you guessed it) Notting Hill, London. The area, which is renowned for it's celebrity inhabitants, a certain film starring Hugh Grant and Portobello Road Market, comes alive each year with a multi-cultural street party.
Starting in 1964, Notting Hill Carnival is now one of the biggest festival carnivals in Europe.Expect music ranging from reggae to dub to salsa, soca floats, steel bands and a huge dollop of extravagant costumes.
