Just because the 4th of July is over, doesn’t mean you can’t end your night with a bang! There are a few local celebrations where you can catch some fireworks after the 4th of July.

Workhouse Arts Center
Lorton, VA
Saturday, July 6
Bring your picnic blanket and lawn chair to a fun event the Workhouse Arts Center. Come early to tour the open studios and art galleries, and listen to free, outdoor summer concerts presented by Bluegrass band Frank Sullivan and the Dirty Kitchen at 7 p.m. and the City of Fairfax Band Swing Ensemble at 8 p.m. Of course end your night with fireworks as they light up the sky approximately at 9 p.m. Food trucks and snacks will be on site with goodies for purchase.
Lansdowne Resort
Leesburg, VA
Saturday, July 6
A favorite “staycation” resort for locals, Lansdowne opens its grounds up to the public for a special American celebration. The event features a special outdoor barbeque, live music from 6-9 pm, and ends with the fireworks. Seating is first come, first serve, and special seating is reserved for hotel guests.
City of Alexandria Birthday Celebration
Alexandria, VA
Saturday, July 13
Celebrate the 264th birthday of this great city with fun for the entire family. The event includes musical entertainment, family activities, refreshments for purchase, and birthday cake! Then, listen to the amazing Alexandria Symphony Orchestra, ending with a Grand Fireworks Finale featuring Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture” with cannon support from the US Marine Corps Basic Training School.
Potomac Nationals
Woodbridge, VA
Various nights throughout the summer
Have fun at this local, minor league baseball stadium with the whole family and cheer on the Potomac Nationals. Plus, many nights throughout the summer offer fireworks after the game. Scheduled fireworks nights for the remainder of 2013 include, July 4, 5, 6, 20, and 21, and August 3, 11, 24, and 25. Check the full schedule online for additional promotions on these nights such as live entertainment or kids’ activities.
