Local health guru and author Cindy Santa Ana is releasing her first book that chronicles the three steps necessary to transform your body and your health. Santa Ana works with clients to help transform their lives through healthier eating, exercising and avoiding chemical pollutants in their daily life. Her specialization is in weight loss, thyroid disease and clean eating transformation. Locally, she is the founder of the Clean Eating Support Club of NoVA, which now has over 175 members.

Santa Ana’s new book, titled “Unprocessed Living: 3 Easy Steps to Transition into Healthy Eating“ is inspired by both her own experiences and by her desire to help those suffering from diet-related diseases.

Santa Ana made a change in her own life by switching out processed foods for whole foods. The result was that she lost 50 pounds, lowered her cholesterol and eliminated her migraines, allergies and frequent colds. The benefits that Santa Ana experienced come to life in her book as she explains her methods and goals.

“Unprocessed Living: 3 Easy Steps to Transition into Healthy Eating” not only offers three clear steps on how to eat healthier and remove weight-related health concerns, but it also features a section called “Unprocessed Living.” In this section, Santa Ana walks you through a typical home and points out all the dangerous chemical pollutants that can be found in household cleaners or personal care products and offers a safer alternative.

The majority of the book, though, is focused on Santa Ana’s three steps to move towards healthier living. The first is Education and Awareness; the second is The Swaps section in which she offers healthier options for modifying existing recipes; and then finally there is The Tools section, which focuses on giving readers everything they need to get started.

This includes things like food shopping lists, meal plan ideas, tips for getting your whole family involved and how to eat healthy while traveling. In addition, Santa Ana provides over 100 easy and healthy recipes to get families started down the right path.

In the next few weeks there will be two local events to showcase Santa Ana’s new book and get you started on the path to improving your own health. On Saturday, May 3, there will be a book launch party at Discover Health Yoga in Gainesville (click here to buy tickets).

Then on Sunday, May 17, at Smart Market Farmer’s Market located at Piney Branch Elementary School, there will be a cooking demo and book signing.
