Manchester Psych Fest Presents is a gathering of the psychedelic community, coming from Manchester and further afield. The main goal of the event at Night & Day Café is to bring together the strange, the far out, and the open minded. The lineup is headed by Toy, with Richard Norris (The Grid/The Time and Space Machine) DJ set, Telegram, The Underground Youth, Ghost Outfit, Helicon, Dead Rabbits, Purple Heart Parade, Second Shepherds, The Black Delta Movement, Richard Hector-Jones DJ set, The Jungfraus and Pete Bassman.

Haus22 with Doorly
The Haus22 team get together once again for the last of their monthly events at Dry Live and this one promises to be a belter with Doorly heading up the line up alongside the Haus22 residents. Producer, DJ, Radio Presenter, Promoter… musical polymath, Doorly seems to have already ticked off a lot of the things on any DJ’s Bucket List. Djing in Time Square New York, touring regularly alongside his early inspiration Fatboy Slim, recording TWO BBC Radio 1 Essential Mixes, producing and DJing live for Usher & Nicki Minaj, and sharing the stage with the Prodigy playing out to 65,000 people (twice!). Tonight he is in the somewhat more intimate confines of the Northern Quarter’s Dry Live. Doorly himself will be kicking out a 3 hour set and the rest of the night will be handed over to Ganzfield Effect and residents Brian Murphy and Newtons Law.

Brake The Silence
The Brakes are delighted to present Brake The Silence. Following on from the success of last years event they have again decided to promote an evening of live and unsigned artists but this time they have moved the event to Gullivers. They have some excellent acts confirmed for the night many of whom The Brakes go to watch in their spare time. They also have a couple of bands returning from the first Brake the Silence. Confirmed to play are: Led By The Lost, The Brakes, The Kindest of Thieves, Random White and Jess Kemp.

Ariya Astrobeat Arkestra
Ariya Astrobeat Arkestra are back to grace the stage at Matt & Phred’s. The UK- based 9 piece have built on the success of their debut album, described by BBC Radio 2’s Jamie Cullum as one of his “sounds and albums of 2010“. Afrobeat’s inimitable rhythm and language is evident and the band also owes part of their sound to the space jazz pioneers of the 70?s and the free jazz trailblazers of the 60?s.

This Saturday Trafford Lovething takes control of the decks at Funkademia, which takes place every Saturday to a consistently full house, feeding a friendly crowd with a diet of pure unadulterated soul-funk with the dj collective taking you on a journey through four decades of the very best soul, funk, electric disco and hip-hop with a touch of smooth r&b and some big house classics.
This Northern Quarter stalwart sells out most weeks so you’re advised to either arrive early or purchase advance tickets.

A big Saturday night battle of the danefloor as Swiss Lips and Ren Harvieu go head to head in a dj set dance off! The Ruby Lounge are throwing a big Saturday night aftershow battle on the dance floor with two of Manchester’s musical stalwarts under one roof, battling it out on the decks, and generally creating a damn fine soundtrack. Cheap £2 entry with a ticket stub from either Swiss Lips’ Manchester Dancehouse show, or Ren Harvieu’s Spirit of Salford show at Salford Civic Centre.

Dawn Landes is an American singer-songwriter and musician originally from Louisville, Kentucky. As a recording artist she has released five full-length albums and in support of her releases, Landes has toured extensively in the US, Europe and around the world, often sharing the stage with artists such as Ray Lamontagne, Feist, Andrew Bird, José González, The Weakerthans, Midlake and Suzanne Vega. Tonight she graces the stage at Soup Kitchen following her support from Little Rach.

The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Club returns with the fabulous Nicole Willis and the Soul Investigators, live plus of course presenter, DJ, actor and funkster Craig Charles manning the decks until the early hours with the planet’s funkiest tunes. From the cold far North dance underground, Nicole Willis & The Soul Investigators combine a scintillating vocalist and celebrated Finland funk collective to create uniquely hot romantic grooves. The Brooklyn-born Nicole Willis has worked with Curtis Mayfield, Leftfield, and done crucial work for Mo’ Wax, and together with the Finnish-bred Soul Investigators she crafts instant classics adored by Northern Soul DJs and fans. Should be a great night at Band On The Wall.

Every Saturday they have DJ Bucky on the decks for a night of Hip Soul, Boogie Funk, Disco & Alternative Pop treasures and their new, dedicated Ping Pong room is open to play a bit of wiff waff all night long.
