To celebrate Bob Marley’s 70th birthday the Band on the Wall Film Club presents a special screening of Marley, the universally acclaimed biopic of Bob Marley’s life. Tickets include FREE ENTRY to reggae club night, Night of the Living Dread plus free food! Marley is the definitive life story of the musician, revolutionary, and legend, from his early days to his rise to international superstardom. Made with the support of the Marley family, the film features rare footage, incredible performances and revelatory interviews with the people that knew him best.

Night of the Living Dread returns to Band On The Wall and this time round they are celebrating one of the more important dates in reggae history, the Rt. Hon Robert Nesta Marley’s birthday! To celebrate in style they have invited one of the UK’s best known ‘One Man Sound System‘ owners, a dedicated vinyl-only selector known for his absolute phenomenal ‘Brixton Splash‘ sessions, ‘The Great‘ Wassie One to Manchester for the first time ever! Wassie One will ‘be joined by resident Mikey D.O.N. (1/3 of legendary rap group Krispy 3) and both DJs will be armed to the teeth with killer tunes – including dubplates, so expect to hear nothing less than absolute bangers in all genres of reggae old & new – from dub to dancehall, roots rockers to ragga and of course, Bob Marley feel good vibes.

Hey! Manchester are excited to be helping Los Trasgos Muertos launch their self-titled EP. From Manchester, Los Trasgos Muertos are Captain Reed (bass/vocals/organ), Von Beek (guitar/vocals) and El Fliesh (drums). Prior to forming the band, all three members spent time honing their musicianship and songwriting skills with other bands on the vibrant Manchester music scene. As a result they have known each other for years, sharing similar passions and frustrations, influences and experiences. Los Trasgos Muertos are influenced by a range of musicians from Billy Childish and Deep Purple to Ty Segall, The Beatles and Prince. Support for this show at The Castle Hotel comes from Barbados Slim and H!M regular Elle Mary and The Bad Men.
