One of the award winners was Anne Lowndes Lawler, who won the Brigid Browne Trophy, sponsored by Tara Winthrop Nursing Home, for the fourth year in a row. The competition was entitled, ‘What Swords Means To Me’. County Mayor, Cllr Darragh Butler who launched the event said, “I was delighted in my year as Mayor to launch the latest edition of Swords Voices for the Swords Historical Society, an event I look forward to every year. It was a great evening and thanks must go to Bernadette Marks, Geraldine McGovern, Mary Nugent and Liam Heron for all of their work on this brilliant publication.”

“One of the highlights of the evening was a 30 minute video of Bernadette Marks and Jim Bennett going around historical graves at St. Colmcille’s graveyard. Produced by Jim Hawkins, it was an excellent production and fantastic addition to the archives,” he concluded.
