The Students Before Profits Award was created to recognize nonprofit colleges and universities offering degrees that put students before profits and education before the bottom line.  For our ranking of the 2017 Online Bachelor’s in Marketing award winners, we chose online programs from nonprofit universities and colleges, accredited by independent and trusted accreditation boards, with lower than averages tuition costs and have ranked them by affordability.

As an integral part of business, marketing is essential to the sustainability and growth of any and all businesses.  Due to its ever-present demand, many students are looking for ways that they can pursue an education in the field of marketing.  As the needs of the modern student change, colleges must adapt to provide programs that meet their needs.  Many students seek out online programs so that they can create a class schedule that fits around their current day-to-day obligations.  Some students are already working in the field of marketing, but want to continue their education to act as a springboard into jobs with more responsibility and higher pay.

As far as job outlook is concerned, a degree in Marketing can be very dependable for students looking to ensure that they have gainful employment.  Marketing must always adapt to the new trends and ways that people communicate.  Currently, there is a large emphasis in Marketing degree programs to teach students ways to leverage social media and the Internet to effectively communicate a product or service’s features, as well as cultivate and maintain long-standing relationships with customers.   With no foreseeable end to the constant creation of new products and services, those trained and skilled in the field of marketing will always be able to find a business, small or large, that they can apply their expertise.  Marketing requires an analytical mind with a creative bent, something that will not be made obsolete by machine of software anytime soon.  By studying Marketing, students can rest assured that they are making a smart investment in their future earning potential.
