Aside from the Lumia 930, Nokia had also unveiled two other new Lumia smartphones during the first day of BUILD 2014 in California – two devices that will surely be a hit in the low-end consumer market. Will the Lumia 520 finally be beaten as the bestselling WP and Microsoft product by the new Lumia 630 and Lumia 635? Let’s find out as we go through the features and specs of both phones.
Expect only the fast, uncompromised Windows Phone 8.1 experience from the Lumia 630 and 635! Both running on quad-core processor that ensures lag-free smartphone navigation, the Lumia 630 is known as the first Lumia device with single and dual SIM 3G variants, while the Lumia 635 is the best-value 4G smartphone ever – even better than its predecessor Lumia 625!
PHONE DESIGN
The 630 and 635 looks almost the same, so how will we know which is which in the stores? Simple. Both sporting vibrant colors, Nokia made the two devices with different back cover finish – for the Lumia 630, it has a matt finish in shades of bright orange, bright green, bright yellow, and white and black; for the Lumia 635, it can be distinguished by the high-gloss finish with unique dual-layered, luminous tonal surround that glimmers and glows, with the same colors as the Lumia 630. The back covers are interchangeable, and since the three phones are all of the same size, you can swap covers with your friends or purchase new covers.
NAVIGATION KEYS
The Lumia 630 and 635 are the first WP devices to have the navigation keys integrated into the user interface or in-screen, instead of the physical buttons found in all Lumia smartphones. The keys disappear when watching videos or when the phones are locked, so won’t need to worry about accidentally pressing those keys.
SENSORCORE
Nokia had also introduced SensorCore to the Lumia 630 and 635. This is a low-power sensing technology that allows real-time monitoring and data storing of activities like steps taken, calories burned, and miles walked, all day – a useful feature for apps focused on healthcare. And because it’s requires only low power, it won’t used up much of the 1,830 mAH battery of the smartphones.
WINDOWS PHONE 8.1
For those planning to purchase the 630 or 635, you will be among the first to enjoy the new update for WP, the Windows Phone 8.1. This update features the improved Start Screen with additional tiles and backgrounds, Action Center for all notifications, easier text input with Word Flow Keyboard, and the latest Xbox games and Internet Explorer – just a few of the massive list of features included in WP 8.1.
