Troy Beetles, who launched his Datsik brand, continues to evolve as a solo artist while pushing his beloved bass music to new lengths, both on a personal artistry level and as a genre as a whole. From bedroom producer to chart-topping artist, internationally touring act, and owner and founder of the enterprising Firepower Records, Datsik is poised to make bass music the sound of the future.
Datsik first dominated the music scene in 2009 with his Nuke ‘EM and Boom EPs featuring Excision and Flux Pavilion as collaborators. He later claimed ten Beatport No. 1 releases and released massive remixes for dance music icons Skrillex, Diplo, Kaskade and Zedd, as well as two collaborations with Bassnectar and two more with Diplo on his Express Yourself EP. He also remixed artists such as Coldplay, Lil Wayne, MGMT, Linkin Park, Wu-Tang Clan and Lana Del Rey.
Now, in support of his new EP Sensei, which releases next month on Firepower Records, Datsik announced his return to the road with the Ninja Nation 2017 Tour. The tour will kick off on Jan. 13, 2017 at the Royal Oak Theatre. The North American tour will continue east featuring two consecutive plays at Chicago’s Concord Music Hall and a performance at New York’s Playstation Theatre before moving west and wrapping at Reno’s Cargo Concert Hall.
Datsik will have special guests joining him, such as Crizzly, Virtual Riot, and a few others to be added to select dates.
The theme of the tour stems from his obsession with ninja culture, previously marked by his 2015 Ninja Nation Tour, however, this time he will bring new high-tech production to the 2017 edition called “The Shogun.”
“The Shogun stage is the next chapter and is an amalgamation of my wildest vision to date,” said Datsik.
“After touring with the Vortex, I’ve wanted to create something unique that will stand out from the rest, and embody what it is to be rave ninja. We’ve got a ton of dope surprises waiting for you with this one, so get ready to have some fun! can’t wait to see you guys on the Ninja nation 2017 Tour!”
