In his first rally to campaign for the civic polls, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday began by hitting out at alliance partner Shiv Sena. Without naming Uddhav Thackeray, the Sena president, Fadnavis indulged in a clothed attack. “Some people feel it is not an election campaign rally but an entertainment show. I don’t blame him. It is not his mistake, he is being guided by his expert team.”

While addressing the first election campaign rally Devendra Fadnavis Chief Minister (CM) started his speech with a dialogue ‘Mudde Lakh Chahe toh Kya Hota hai Wahi Hota Hai Jo Munjure Khuda Hota Hai ‘ pinching their old alliance party Shiv Sena Fadnavis said, “Some feel it is not an election campaign rally but an entertainment show and so they are fooling people by quoting wrongly on economic survey and fabricating the actual facts.”

Clarifying the BJP’s position on the economic survey of 2016 – 17 which has showed the Brihan Mumbai Municipal Corporation as the only civic body to be transparent Fadnavis said, “BMC has got marks on four parameters which come under the purview of the state government and not under the civic body. The proposals which got sanction from the state through have scored high marks.”

He further added, “There were other parameters too which came under the BMC like services being given to the citizens, peoples’ participation in the civic budget, auditing of the budget but here the BMC scored zero marks.”

Fadnavis announced that it is being falsely spread that only BMC scored the highest, Hyderabad and Bangaluru scored high. CM also alleged that since the last seven years the standing committee of the civic body has not given permission for auditing of its own budget.

“The survey also shows BMC is being compared with the Patna corporation. It just shows that the Mumbai level has fallen down drastically”.

While addressing the rally CM assured the party focus is clear regarding ‘transparency and development.’  He said, “I am shocked at the way people of Mumbai travel in local trains. They should be awarded with a ‘Nobel Prize.’ It is only because of this my party wants to make their easy that we are working on providing the Mumbai Metro and Mono rail projects.”

He concluded his speech recalling that till date citizens supported Sena and that is why they have experienced corruption.  “This time vote for BJP and make Mumbai a dream city.”

As a parting promise, Fadnavis assured Kirit Somaya the Member of Parliament of Bhandup West of BJP that he will soon shut down all the three dumping grounds ‘Govandi’, ‘Deonar’ and ‘Mulund’ which the Bombay High Court has ordered to be to closed by June 30, 2017.
