You can't break my spirit (A.K.A. RE: Your last message)
Okay, so you don't want all of the Forums' posts bundled into one archive. I'm okay with that; in fact I too wanted to have seperated archives for each different Forum. I can see what I can do about splitting them up, I guess, it will just take a lot of work.

You do not like that Nitrome Discussions are archived. That, I disagree with. Why should we have old discussions from years ago sitting, cluttering up the Forum. I doubt we will have the problem of people making multiple of the same post over and over again, but if we do I am willing to readdress this problem and listen to you tell me you told me so.

I didn't put any "discussionclosed" templates on the archived Discussion forum topics because they weren't proposing anything. The Forums aren't there to be strictly used for only propositions.

19:53, April 25, 2015 (UTC)

:Oh thank goodness. It's a pigment of my imagination, most likely. I'm probably confusing it with the time you did a formal "discussionclosed" for some sort of wiki related question and it was just...awkward? Anyways that aside.

:One thing we could consider is making Archives a subforum, per forum. I mean, that could work. I don't know how to do it off the top of my head because the new forums actually make this a lot easier to handle, but Help:Wiki-style forums can hold our hands and walk us through each step. A subforum, per forum. Easily accessible.

:I can't really see how threads could be considered "cluttered" in a forum, considering how their default layout is to be organised from most recently edited to least. Newest discussions are found at the top, and if you're truly concerned, there is a way for only a certain number of threads to be shown on the page at a time. I did a little testing on [ Forum:Archives] and can probably get it working so that it only displays the latest ten threads at a time. That way, clutter is less of a concern on the Watercooler and Nitrome Discussions forums.

:Well, not just that. Maybe a bit of a personal choice, but visiting Nitrome Discussions and seeing only one thread there makes it look...empty. Like discussion never existed there. I mean sure, it's not active, but with the older threads, at least there's record that people actually used it. There is a difference.

:For Wiki Discussion, because a number of threads are about proposing changes to the wiki, it would be best to archive them, but within its own subforum. I suppose I'll bring this up in a forum thread (go figure) so that it's more open to everyone to participate. (But if you want to voice your opinions on here, I'm not stopping you.)

:Additionally, I wonder if there is a way for you to edit a forum thread but not have it recorded in the "Last Edit" and "Author" columns. It seems like a jerk move to visit an archived forum and get the wrong impression that only admins participated in all these discussions. 08:00, April 27, 2015 (UTC)

::Having the archives of old topics be within each Forum? That could work. I'd totally be for implementing that.

::Perhaps my view of the Wiki Discussion has just translated over to the other forums, because Wiki Discusson is mostly proposals that need to reach a verdict, so it has always felt to me like a list of issues needing to be resolved. I always have an urge to get as many topics finished and out of there as possible. I guess I can see how in other forums, though, that empty can seem like a not good thing. Perhaps we could up the time that topics in that Forum stay before being archived? (like 1 year rather than the regular 4 months).

::As for changing the "Last Edit" comlumn, I'm fine with that. It never bothered me seeing a long list of admins as the last authors, and it never even crossed my mind that it might come off as looking like only admins participate in the conversations (that is, if anyone even goes and looks in the archives besides us). 16:24, May 1, 2015 (UTC)

Thanks!
Thanks for creating those Cooped Up articles, especially the lucky bug one! I thought you got it for outrunning a chasing finch. You also organized the bugs article just how I would have written it, only better (was going to go for sections for each bug that included their appearance). Great work! -- 22:45, May 7, 2015 (UTC)

:Wow a thank you from NOBODY after all these years...guess I did something worth noting. Anyways I'm not 100% positive about the lucky bug thing...I just noticed this after I got past 40 and I have outrun many chasing finches before and didn't get the bug then. 01:41, May 9, 2015 (UTC)

Nitrome Wiki Twitter suggestions
For Nitrome Wiki Twitter, can I suggest new things and get approval via blog post or should I handle it through the forum? -- 20:16, May 12, 2015 (UTC)

A painful reminder
Hey, it's been fifteen days now and I was just wondering if you could respond to those "discussions" we were having. Otherwise I guess I'll just go ahead and implement the Forum Policy as the "policy" page for the Forums (or I could just move the "Rules" section to the Nitrome Wiki's policy page and then rename the rest of the page "Forum Guidelines").

I'm not trying to be a snob here or pressure you or anything, it's just that I would kind of like to move on from the Forums and work on other projects and I don't want to leave it unfinished.  00:42, May 17, 2015 (UTC)

:OH, SURE you're not trying to be a snob or anything as you stab at me with your "painful" reminder. Because it's not like the policy is for, I don't know, anyone else in the community and only your and my approval is necessary. Well I guess you could throw a "it's not Emite's fault; stupid RSK should have been the one to start a forum thread asking the entire community how they feel". Well fine then, Princess. You sure begged at a grand time. 06:27, May 17, 2015 (UTC)

::This might be a rather obvious thing but anyway, Random-storykeeper, are you being sarcastic? If so, you sound an awfully lot like <s>my brother</s> the other pretty princess. If not... I really wouldn't know what to say.

Twitching with Anger
There's not a policy for messages that have nothing to do with the Wiki, is there? Well, anyway...

I AM SO ANGRY WITH MYSELF RIGHT NOW! I went to check your Twitch just now in case I didn't miss any new streams of yours (I had no school today, by the way), and I noticed that not only did I miss two streams 5 hours ago, but one of them was of you playing Wubbzy's Underwater Adventure, which was a flash game I played as a kid! On the Flipside, I did get to try out my new iPod today and beat both Silly Sausage in Meat Land and Gunbrick (SD). This was a big missed opportunity though, so i'm wondering how i'm going to make sure I don't miss out on your next stream.

04:36, May 20, 2015 (UTC)

:Nah, we do this sort of stuff all the time. It's no big deal, unless maybe the user whose talk page it belongs to has a problem with it. Ha that's crazy, beating Meat Land and Gunbrick in a single day. I know lots of people do this, but for some time, I had held this mantra that rushing to beat a game that a lot of effort has been put into in a single day is not taking enough time to enjoy the work fully and an offense to the developer. It's (sort of) the reason I have been taking my sweet time beating Gunbrick. But mostly because I want to log my experience playing it! :D

:Hm, you could try following the channels you want to be sure you don't miss out on streams. That way you can get email/banner notifications if you use the Twitch app, etc. 09:39, May 21, 2015 (UTC)

:

::Okay, thanks RSK! And the reason I beat all of Gunbrick in one day is because I was so hooked on it. If I didn't take my time on the game, I would fail all of the puzzles anyway :P

Every ending is where it should be
Hello there, Random-storykeeper! I've gone through the entire Endings page and checked to make sure all endings are where they should. I have a feeling that the ending pages could be salvaged and revamped like Death (Nitrome games), as I did see a general trend in the ending animations (I will mention this on the forum). I also came across some very peculiar instances where the ending section was made a level three heading or its own section which I have a feeling I might raise a forum discussion about which it should be.

Have a pleasant day!

Yes, you are correct. However, the sentence made it sound that just from the start of the game the protagonist decided to go on an adventure, which doesn't really fit with deliberately running away from the police. -- 21:09, June 18, 2015 (UTC)

Whoops, I thought the "rollback" button and the "undo" button were the same thing. I didn't realize the rollback button had any negative connotations. I just hit it because it was conveniently right there on the edit summary page, and I didn't take 2 seconds to look for the "undo" button which was located right above it.

Anyway, thanks for the heads up about that and consider it noted. I'll remember for next time.

P.S. Yeah, I probably will have to end up creating a template for those messages... and then in a few months I can switch the part "changes in our Manual of Style" to "according to our Manual of Style" for new users.

RE: How that mistake was made in the first place
Wow.

So the problem actually comes from Nitrome themselves. That, I did not expect. I remember when the game came out, but I'm not one for paying a lot of attention to text like that, so I guess that I did not remember at all that it was once called Colour Blind and that the blog posts named it as such. That's definitely very interesting. Why did Nitrome changed the name, I don't know. In any way, that's something to add to the trivia section of the game :p<br>

Suggestion
I'm sorry that this week's battle idea was not what you suggested; I guess I exited chat a little too fast (I was rushing). What was your intended suggestion? -- 14:44, December 9, 2015 (UTC)

:Basically a duos battle - which has sort of been done, but I guess not clearly defined. It was supposed to be between two characters that can be controlled independently - like Yin and Yang vs. Owl and Fat Cat. So characters that are within the same stage together, but are controlled independently. I see a "Multiple controlled characters game battle!" on the previous results list though, so I think just forget that.

:Strategy games battle, maybe? Like Mutiny vs. Steamlands, which are pretty definite "strategy" games. I guess you could throw in Flue and Turnament, though I kind of was thinking more of icon games exclusive. I'll let you know if I ever think of more (which I don't think I will). 09:25, December 10, 2015 (UTC)

Re: Replacing Image
I am fully aware about how to replace images on this wiki, and i'm actually doing it most of the time. The reason I sometimes upload a new one and not just update the already-existing file is because of the image name. To keep it neatly organised in the wiki as well as in my folders (i have thousands of sprites everywhere), I use consistent names. For example, all the Rust Bucket files start with "RustBucket ", and when i uploaded the new version of the Medusa sprite, i noticed that it was named "RB ", which doesn't really help if you're trying to search the image on the wiki or whatever. So I just kept the names consistent. I mean, "RustBucket wooden shield metal.png" is a pretty interesting name... but i don't think it's really accurate (who knows, maybe wooden metal exists and i'm making a fool of myself). Non-mods can't rename or delete files, so I'm just trying to upload good quality ones with a consistant naming nomenclature. I just hope it's not being a bother to you guys.<br>

23:23, March 12, 2016 (UTC)

:I would prefer if you replace images under the same name rather than uploading new ones, since it would keep all revisions to that image under one archive instead of having to delete them. If anything, you ought to use Template:Move file and provide a new name for the image; that will organise files that need to be renamed into a category and, if properly used, will allow admins to rename an image with a single click. 23:43, March 12, 2016 (UTC)

:Right now I find this whole situation pretty amusing. There is a strict policy regarding file name nomenclature, with things such as 'using the game name at the beginning of the file name' and such. I respect that all the time, even when I reupload bad-quality files from other users. But apparently I have to keep the old file name, such as the amazing "Screenshot 2016-02-22-10-46-41.png" or "Ghost outside.png" (from Megaphantaze, in the Enemies (Turnament series) page). So there is a strict name policy which I respect, but I also have to bend to the other's decisions regarding specific files with incorrect names. Just finding that amusing.<br>

10:26, March 13, 2016 (UTC)

::For clarification, is your point that you think you should be uploading entirely new images? I'm saying that kind of ruins the whole "history" bit of the images, as you're uploading an improvement, which shouldn't be an entirely separate image file altogether. If anything, this should be to your benefit, since you won't actually have to edit tens of pages. But, like I said in the message earlier, you may not be able to rename files, but you can still help mark them for moving with the template I linked earlier.

::But I suppose, if it's in your amusement, I could probably merge file histories. Is that what you prefer? 19:12, March 13, 2016 (UTC)

Re: [Leap Day template condensation]
I didn't see that little conversation on the Leap Day talk page, I'm sorry. I wasn't aware that we were doing things a bit differently for this game because of its one-level-per-day nature, which is why I didn't fully understand what you were doing with that navigation template at first. Now I understand and agree on the changes. I also agree with the idea of keeping the general game navigation template on one row with a single link per page, since we are apparently going for separate image-based navigation templates on each page.<br>When it comes down to the specific order of elements per page, I was trying to order them by theme, keeping elements that are related or act in a similar way close together (which is what I've been doing with other games in the past), because I feel like it makes general page navigation clearer for readers.

I said "There are plenty of pages with way more content" because there are quite a few pages with a lot of content which don't necessarily require/have a page navigation template, and I was wondering why should we add one for pages with very few elements in comparaison (even though the page will expand over time, it will still have a limit, you can't add infinite new stuff). Of course now I understand why we will use specific navigation templates on the Leap Day pages.

17:00, May 18, 2016 (UTC)

:Well, not necessarily because of that. I remember someone (I'm pretty sure it was you) mentioned something about having images in the navbox, which is definitely helpful for games where not all components have names. Considering how we're going with lists for this, it doesn't make sense to have sectional links in the navbox - it's not intuitive for navigation, not to mention the navbox isn't built for section jumping like Leap Day's template's earlier revisions - just whole links.

:Oh and this is also supposed to make it more convenient for people who keep the wiki up to date for Leap Day, since you'd only have to edit one page when adding an enemy, rather than a list page and then the template. meh I never tried this before, but I hope it'll work.

:Yeah this page navigation template was something I just created on the wiki yesterday, thus why it wasn't on any list pages. I guess I sort of adapted this idea from Neutronized Wiki, but it wasn't used to its advantage. I feel like having this sort of template at the top will allow people to properly identify what they want to read about if they need to, and if it works here, then I will by all means implement it on other list pages in the future.

:Do you check Wiki Activity or Recent changes for keeping up with changes on the wiki? I recommend the latter, since you would have been able to see the discussions taking place on template pages as well as changes to templates, which Wiki Activity omits. 23:22, May 18, 2016 (UTC)

I mostly have the activity page open on my nitromewiki tab, because of convenience really. I tend to check the recent changes page from time to time, because although it provides with much more information in a more compact way, it doesn't make recent changes and comments as striking as the activity page.<br>

Leap Day chars
"Not sure if points are only for the level of the day or just for days following that latest update."<br>

Yes, you do have to complete the current level of the day in order to get points. I have skipped some days, due to irl work and I was unable to get any points from them when playing them back, even though they were post-update days. Which is why I only have Yolk and Lick now, even though everyone has that cow thing.<br>

Oh and I forgot to mention but if you guys don't like the style I went with that table, you can change it or ask me. I thought I could do something that looked a bit better than every other wikitable ever.<br>

:Oh, okay, thanks for clarifying that for me. I am loving that table; I just don't know if NOBODY will want the rows to be collapsible, which I remember not being able to do successfully. (If you noticed from the Doves page, I had only incorporated collapsible elements within cells - it didn't look great, but it was functional enough, plus we were big on the whole "no spoilerz" thing.) Do you, by chance, happen to know how to collapse an entire row? If not, don't worry about it. Nitrome tweeted all character images and stuff in addition the selfies are made available to share, so I don't think it's too much of a spoiler worthy thing. But it could work for future pages. 07:47, June 22, 2016 (UTC)
