During an investor call today, Activision has confirmed that there is no new Skylanders game coming to consoles in 2017. This marks the first time since the series launched in 2011 that a new title would not be released in a given year.
There is NO new Skylanders console game in 2017.
There will be additional content for Skylanders Imaginators + new mobile game.

While there may be no new game coming to consoles, Activision has announced that a Skylanders mobile game will be coming later this year, and new content will be released for Skylanders Imaginators. There’s no word on if/how Skylanders figures will be implemented in the mobile title or what kind of gameplay we should expect from it.
