In July 2014, Ningbo Municipal People’s Government’s financial office issued the “2013 Report of Development of Listed Companies in Ningbo.”
By December 31, 2013, there had been 2,490 listed companies in the whole nation. Ningbo possessed 43 of those listed companies. In 2013, Ningbo did not have newly listed shares. It ranked number ten in the country. The top three cities with the most listed companies were Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen. The number of listed companies were, respectively, 219, 201, and 184. Ningbo ranked second in Zhejiang Province with 43 listed companies while Hangzhou ranked first.
From the perspective of the total market value in the listed companies, Ningbo Port was the dominator, reaching 31.2 billion yuan. Bank of Ningbo ranked second, reaching 26.6 billion yuan. Youngor ranked third, reaching 16.7 billion yuan. Joyson Electronics ranked fourth, reaching 9.8 billion yuan. Cixing Shares ranked fifth, reaching 8.6 billion yuan. Bros Eastern ranked sixth, reaching 7.5 billion yuan. Ningbo Yunsheng ranked seventh, reaching 7 billion yuan. Ningbo Fuda ranked eighth, reaching 6 billion yuan. EGING PV ranked ninth, reaching 5.2 billion yuan. Rongan Property ranked tenth, reaching 5.1 billion yuan. The market value of other listed companies was not more than 5 billion yuan. Ningbo Fubang ranked last, reaching 0.8 billion yuan.

Ningbo Port Co., Ltd., was formerly known as Ningbo Port Affairs Management Bureau and was founded in 1979. It was renamed Ningbo Port Affairs Bureau in 1987. On April 8, 2004, due to the national and provincial port system reforms, Ningbo Port Affairs Bureau separated administration from management, and established Ningbo Port Group Co., Ltd. On March 31, 2008, Ningbo Port Group combined Merchants International and six other companies to set up Ningbo Port Co., Ltd. as the initiator (Among them, Ningbo Port Group had 90% of the shares). On September 28, 2010, approved by China Securities Regulatory Commission, Ningbo Port Co., Ltd. was formally listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
