The Bruce Lee Kobe 11 arrives this weekend, and today we get official photos to go along with the official nickname. That’s right, it’s not officially “Bruce Lee” — trademarks and royalties and all that. It’s the Nike Kobe 11 Warrior Spirit.
But make no mistake, the shoe is a clear homage to everyone’s favorite martial artist. The Flyknit upper’s black-and-yellow look is a clear nod to Lee’s outfit in Game of Death, while the bloody scratches he receives in Enter the Dragon inform the jagged red embroidery on either heel.
It’s a fitting return to the Bruce Lee theme, the Kobe 11 being the final on-court signature shoe of Kobe Bryant’s career and the Bruce Lee being one of the Kobe line’s most beloved motifs. A beautiful look back over the years.
