Leading Innovative Technology Distributer seeking a talented, rounded Infrastructure Engineer / Senior Systems Analyst who is keen to apply their technical knowledge to a challenging environment, working with an established firm based in Surrey. The organisation are heavily engaged in a broad range Innovative Technology Distribution strategies on behalf of their clients, have a robust risk management approach, and modern systems and infrastructure to execute and complete complex transactions.
The position offers the opportunity for an ambitious & driven Infrastructure Engineer / Senior Systems Support Analyst to join the organisation in a critical role, where they will have the opportunity to see the direct impact of the improvements they make almost immediately, and to embed themselves into an expanding organisation where they will have a lot of interaction with users.
The key objective for the Infrastructure Engineer / Senior Support Analyst will be to maintain & innovate to improve the existing IT environment - hardware, networks, communications equipment & software, & to construct additional infrastructure as required by the business, whilst rapidly resolving technical issues.
Working closely with other IT team members, the responsibilities will comprise monitoring, managing, & maintaining existing IT hardware, networks, infrastructure, & communications equipment. The successful applicant will need to implement new systems & changes to existing systems as required by the business; be confident enough to interact as the primary point of contact for any issues related to the IT infrastructure within the company; & investigate critical issues. The Infrastructure Engineer / Senior Support Analyst will report regularly to the Infrastructure Manager, & strive to enhance their knowledge of technologies that may benefit the company & aim to partner with the business to innovate & improve what already exists.
About You
Key Skills & Requirements include:
Mandatory
*Excellent experience of IT Infrastructure Technologies:
o Microsoft Servers, Active Directory infrastructure, Microsoft Exchange
o Microsoft Dynamics or ERP maintenance/management (AX 2009/12 Desirable)
o Desktop hardware, operating systems, core applications
o Routers, switches, TCP/IP - CCNA or equivalent level if qualified by experience.
o Working knowledge of core Microsoft domain infrastructure and technologies (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, RDS, WDS)
o Management of SAN, Cloud based backups and maintenance of MS LYNC 2013
o Good knowledge of Hyper V, VMware, Citrix and Cisco network equipment
*Good communication skills & the ability to deal directly with the business user base.
*Excellent prioritisation skills, & the ability to quickly grasp requirements & suggest carefully considered technical solutions.
*Desire to work across a broad range of networking and server technologies to rapidly resolve technology issues.
*Previous experience in a similar role, providing 3rd line skills in Hardware and Software Analysis
Desirable
*Relevant professional qualifications e.g. MCSE, CCNA
*ITIL Foundation or Certified/Working to ITIL Principles
